The Powercore 6000 from TC Electronic is a FireWire based DSP accelerator and software plug-in bundle that's been designed to give producers the extra processing power they need, and provide them with better sounding tools for computer based audio production (Mac and PC compatible). Included in this system are the same algorithms and DSP/RAM hardware design used in the acclaimed System 6000, which has been used in countless Oscar-winning films and in many high-end mastering facilities.
The Powercore 6000 comes with a formidable set of powerful plug-ins, with the option to add additional effects, instruments, and utilities that were all custom coded to take advantage of the powerful on-board DSP. Dozens of these plug-ins are currently available, and even more are being developed and rolled out in an ongoing basis. Among them you will find offerings from some of the most respected names in the industry, such as Access, Sonnox Oxford, Tube-Tech, and more. Because this software was written specifically to utilize the hardware, their performance and sound quality achieve a much higher caliber. Likewise, the Powercore hardware was tailor-made to support these custom plug-ins.
Using these tools in your DAW isn't any different from using native VST and AU plug-ins. The Powercore tools will work seamlessly with your current work flow.
