Lembre-se dos Indispensáveis

A lens and memory card are not included with the camera.
Get the type of lens for the shot you need, and a high-capacity memory card so you don't get caught without memory.

The Canon EOS 50D SLR Digital Camera features an APS-C sized 15.1-megapixel CMOS sensor for superb quality images and the latest DIGIC 4 Image Processor to provide superior color reproduction, and improved ISO capabilities for uncompromised shooting even in the dimmest situations. It also features a 3.0-inch Clear View LCD monitor, supercharged Live View Function with Face Detection Live mode, plus a number of automatic Image Correction settings and HDMI output.

The 15.1-megapixel image sensor delivers ultra-detailed images and the redesigned photo diodes and micro lenses of the sensor extend its light gathering capabilities to ensure improved high ISO performance and low noise. Furthermore, the camera's ISO sensitivity is an astounding 3200 with expanded sensitivity to an ultra-sensitive 12800. The Integrated Cleaning System includes a Self Cleaning Sensor Unit with a fluorine coating to improve the camera's image quality by helping to reduce, repel and remove unwanted dust from the sensor. Plus, stubborn particles can be removed automatically in post-production with Dust Delete Data and Canon's included Digital Photo Professional software.

The 50D is incredibly fast thanks to the DIGIC 4 processor - it allows for up to 6.3 fps continuous shooting, in bursts of up to 90 JPEG images (with a UDMA CF card). Furthermore, Canon's wide area AF system uses 9 individual cross type sensors, so stunning action sequences can be captured - even in low-light conditions - making the EOS 50D particularly suited to sports and wildlife shooting. The DIGIC 4 processor also delivers 14-bit image processing, for smooth gradation and natural-looking colors - as well as ensuring ultra-fast startup times and near-instant image review after shooting.

The 3.0" Clear View VGA LCD (920,000 pixels) provides an extra-large and wide angle-of-view image review, with plenty of clarity for accurate focus checks in playback. By switching to Live View mode - which displays a real-time image on the LCD - photographers can enjoy simplified shooting from awkward angles, or connect to a PC for remote shooting. In addition, the Live Mode offers three ways to auto focus: Quick AF, Live AF, and Face Detection Live AF, which optimizes focus based on faces detected in the frame - for fast, spontaneous portraiture. The camera even offers HDMI output for viewing images on an HDTV - directly from the camera.

Even with all of these high powered features, the EOS 50D features Canon's renowned intuitive EOS menu system, along with a Quick Control screen, for instant access to the most commonly-changed settings. There is also a Creative Auto mode that offers automatic focus and exposure - while still allowing the user to add creative 'tweaks' to settings such as background sharpness. Altogether the Canon EOS 50D is an excellent product for advanced amateur photographers and entry-level professionals.

15.1 Megapixel CMOS Sensor
The EOS 50D features a 15.1-megapixel APS-C sized CMOS sensor which is capable of recording up to 4752 x 3168 pixels with full 14-bit A/D conversion for extremely fine tonal gradation. It can capture images with exceptional clarity and has the same 3:2 ratio as a film camera, but with a focal length conversion factor of 1.6x. The use of improved micro lenses and the latest manufacturing techniques mean each pixel is more sensitive to light, making the camera capable of recording at sensitivities previously too noisy for shooting in low light or subjects in motion.
Sensibilidade ISO Incrivelmente Alta

First of all I am not going to do a pro and con type review. All cameras have compromises but considering the whole package this is the best camera for the money on the market period. I upgraded from the 40D. It may seem from a casual observer's point of view that there is little difference between the two cameras but this is not the case(I read the early reviews by some internet "experts" and really wondered if they even understood the camera as they did not elucidate the new features). The view screen is bigger and has better resolution, the focus is faster and more precise, the ability to both micro adjust your lenses as well as being able to store your micro adjustment settings is a huge feature. While noise level in full Raw is about the same in my side by side comparison the 50D renders a sharper image than the 40D at comparable high ISOs. I have noticed that the SRaw1 feature improves noise. Regardless I have shot images up to 1200 and they are excellent with little noise. It is very important to use good quality glass. Cheap lenses will not utilize the quality of the images that this camera is capable of and remember if your frame of reference is your computer monitor it will not accurately image the detail of the 15mp images generated by this camera. Images are tack sharp and clear. Canon has great color and this camera is no exception. The focus is quick and precise in fact it is so good it will accurately focus in almost total darkness. Build quality is excellent and just like all of my Canon equipment and my 40D it is 100% reliable. The menu is easy to use. Only living with this camera and using it in all types of situations will give you a full appreciation for its capabilities. I do not anticipate upgrading any time in the future.

I use this camera to shoot mostly portraits of family, models, teens in both studio and location photography. I live on the beach so humidity is an issue. I love the 15 megapixel sensor. I love the features, which are very similar to my 20D. I would never shoot my 20D over ISO 100. The noise was terrible with that camera. However, I don't hesitate to shoot at 800 and even 3200 ISO with the 50D. It is a great camera. However, after only a few weeks of ownership, I have already spotted dust on the sensor. I have not switched lenses since I put the first one on. Therefor, I fear dust will continue to be a major issue. The sensor cleanor did work on one piece of dust. But there are three more dust spots that simply will not budge. I know there is dust delete software that comes with the camera, but I don't want to be deleting data, especially when it's on someone's face. I hate dust!!! I think this is a great camera, but I fear dust will still be an issue with not only this camera, but any SLR that's on the market right now. They have got to come up with something new to alliviate the dust issue altogether. Dust can ruin your images, and it's a major pain in post production when it appears on critical parts of an image, such as on a person.

Comments about Canon EOS 50D SLR Digital Camera (Camera Body):

I am a semi-professional photographer and photojournalist and I am absolutely in love with this camera. However much I wish I could afford something like the Mark III or Mark IV, this camera has proved to be an incredible piece of equipment. The quality of photographs never fails to impress. It has seen multiple countries and climates and has yet to break in anyway (and I will be the first to say if my equipment can't hold its own than it breaks pretty quick).
I have had the camera for a little over a year now and have already recommended it to many.

    Canon for life!

Canon EOS 50D SLR upgrade from Rebel

Comments about Canon EOS 50D SLR Digital Camera (Camera Body):

I upgraded to the EOS 50D after using the original Rebel for many years. The Rebel was my first digital SLR and I used it to learn the features, but was looking to upgrade to a more professional SLR. I am very happy with my decision. I chose the 50D for several reasons, but mostly because it used the lenses and other equipment that I had already invested in for my 1st DSLR. That was an important feature for me because I wanted to use the lenses that I had already invested in. I was also looking for a camera that did not shoot video. It is a personal thing, but I feel that if I have a digital SLR in my hand, that I should concentrate on still images, rather than worrying about video opportunities. I am learning the controls of the camera, as they are different than the rebel, but not difficult to learn. I took the camera out for a shoot with my daughter and was amazed at the shots that I got. I am not a professional by any means, but I love this camera and know that I will happily use it for many, many years to come. The camera costs more that the rebel series, but I feel that the money was well spent. I also love the Large LCD screen for my over 40 eyes. The camera also has live view, but I have not tried this yet. I bought this camera for myself and know that I will enjoy it for years to come!

Comments about Canon EOS 50D SLR Digital Camera (Camera Body):

Photographing our kids in sports and other events has turned into an expensive hobby! We started with point and shoots. Couldn't capture the action and night shots. Then we bought the Rebel XTi. Then an EF-S 18-200 IS 3.5-5.6mm lens. Yep, then comes the L 200mm f2.8 non-IS! As you can see, this is an ongoing process. Just received our 50D a couple of weeks ago. What an awesome camera! Out of the box with the L, the night time and action shots on Automatic are superb. While I wouldn't classify us as advanced amateurs, we are well on the way. My wife enrolled in a class that was geared towards advanced teaching. It has taken a little getting used to with the new menu's and location of buttons but without a doubt, this camera a giant step up from the XTi. We looked at the 60D but felt that the plastic body and swivel screen were not going to be durable. (Opinion only) The features of the 2 were similar with the only real diff being the swivel screen. When you hold the 50D, you know you have a machine that is durable.

We did have to upgrade the memory card. Went with the Lexar professional 8G card. PLENTY of room.

Comments about Canon EOS 50D SLR Digital Camera (Camera Body):

This is the second 50D I have purchased for my wedding photography business. We wanted to buy it before they were out of stock everywhere, as the 60D is now the new model. We bought it instead of the 60D because the 60D requires a different memory card, which was a hassle we didn't want to face, considering we already use a 30D and another 50D which both use CF cards. I love the Canon line and the two wheels for adjustments; however I wish they moved in the same direction that I want the meter arrow to move- it's a little counter-intuitive that way.

Comments about Canon EOS 50D SLR Digital Camera (Camera Body):

I just received my 50D. I haven't used it much yet, but the camera body seems to be lighter than my past Cannon bodies, and the sound of the mirror click when I take a shot seems quieter than previous bodies. I also like the big viewfinder display. My only complaint, which probably applies to all cameras these days, is that there are so many features that it's really hard to remember how to use the camera. Quite often I am shooting live scenes in real time, outdoors, indoors, low light, and extremely low light. So, I am adjusting the manual camera settings all the time and I use a fast image stabelized lens. Sometimes my mind goes blank because theres just too much to think about. I know that I could get even better results if I used some of the other camera functions, but frankly it's just too much to remember and thing about. And, ad all of the manual settings of the strobe plus CTO filtering the strobe and my mind sometimes goes into brain freeze.

Comments about Canon EOS 50D SLR Digital Camera (Camera Body):

I'm primarily a street shooter and this camera gives me great results on the run. I've also used it for standard portrait and macro shooting and it does not disappoint. I upgraded from a Rebel XS, which while that too was a great little camera, I quickly outgrew it. Pair this up with a great L lens and you'll be happy. I've been shooting almost everyday since I got it and couldn't be more pleased. The 50D is my primary camera and I see myself using this for a long time to come, even with the addition of another camera.

Comments about Canon EOS 50D SLR Digital Camera (Camera Body):

I realize the 50D is on its way out, but I adore this camera, so I felt compelled to write a review of it before it sails into the sunset. I just finished a 10 month driving trip across the entire continent of Africa (as well as Europe and a bit of Asia), and the 50D was my best friend the entire way. I had the chance to try the camera out in a wide variety of photographic situations, and here's a quick summary of my experience:

                * Wildlife: The camera is just fantastic for wildlife. Lightning fast fps, spot-on auto focus, and the inherent magnification factor of the APS-C sensor meant that wildlife shooting was a dream.

                * Landscapes: With good lenses, the image quality of landscapes is great, though of course not as good as with a full-sized sensor. But color and resolution are both excellent.

                * "Travel" / People: The LCD panel at the top of the camera instantly provides most of the information you need, and the camera has plenty of quick-access dedicated buttons. These features enable you to quickly change settings as conditions change. I have to admit that I didn't fully appreciate these features before my trip, but I can't count the number of times that I was able to get "the shot" because of them.

                * Low-light: This is the only area where I think the 50D could be better. Compared to my previous DSLR it's a revelation, but image quality at ISO 1600 and up is a bit grainy. It this is an important consideration for you, I'd recommend a full-frame camera. But image quality at ISO 800 and below is just fantastic.

It's also worth mentioning that the camera is very solidly built and withstood the rigors of a very difficult trip.

Overall, the 50D is a great product and perhaps still worth considering in its twilight days, so long as you don't need video and don't need stellar high-ISO quality. I would buy it again in a heartbeat.

Comments about Canon EOS 50D SLR Digital Camera (Camera Body):

I was asked to shoot an extreme whitewater kayak race this past weekend. I had been using my lovely 5d for this event the past few years but always felt like I was missing a lot of good shots because of it's relatively slow speed. My other camera is a nice Rebel that just isn't up to the task.

Did a lot of research on forums and reviews and narrowed it down to the 50D or 60D, budget considered. I really had a difficult time choosing, weighing all the specs and features of both camera bodies, but ultimately opting for the 50D because it just seemed a bit more rugged and simple. More "professional" if that's an appropriate description.

The absolute right decision, this camera is flawless. Simple, rugged and fast, professional in every sense of the word. The results with my long L glass are simply stunning, indistinguishable from my full frame 5D. No regrets.

Comments about Canon EOS 50D SLR Digital Camera (Camera Body):

This is my first SLR digital camera. Previously I've owned a Canon AT-1 (showing my age now), and various Canon point-and-shoot's including the G-11. I ordered the 50D since I don't need video, I live and shoot in Alaska, where additional dust and moisture sealing are pluses. Rapid exposures were needed to keep up with my non-stop 2-year-old grandson. My first 50D (combined with a 24-70 f2.8L) seemed to be producing images that were quite soft. Took the camera and lens to a professional photographer who helped me determine that the lens was sharp, and confirmed that the 50D was likely not performing up to snuff.[...]My second 50D [...] and I've got to say, that I'm quite pleased with the image quality of this copy. Seems to be a very solidly built camera. I won't be afraid to haul this around our local mountains! Controls are laid out nicely, and buttons function crisply. Menu items are quite logical, especially if you have had previous Canon equipment. Oh, and it shoots rapidly enough to keep up with the 2-year-old!ISO's up to 800 are quite acceptable, with 1600 and 3200 understandably being a tad noisy. Not sure I'll be using the 6400 and 12,800, but they're nice to have 'just in case.'I like to understand the nuts and bolts of camera settings. The manual does a basic job of explaining menu items and setup, but doesn't go deep enough, in my opinion... On-line discussion forums filled this gap.[...]
