I plan to use this mostly as a helmet camera. It is thin enough that it can be put behind the chin guard of a helmet with velcro, and the lens is at the top. I like the prespective from that pov as opposed to the dedicated helmet cameras that usually mount to the top or side.

The fact that it has a screen and works well as a normal compact camera is just gravy for me.

I bought this video camera for my 9 year old daughter, and she was able to quickly master it and take great videos. It was a good value for the money. The only thing I could see at all being an issue was the lighting - definitely needs it to be well lit. Great product overall.

I love this little thing! awesome price for an HD camcorder...wonderful to have when you have kids that do things suddenly and you don't want to mess with gettin' out your big camcorder...My old one will probably never be used again:) I keep this in my purse and now I never miss a moment...we really like the video software it came with.

I just got this the vado and boy does it take great shots. This is a great camera for anyone on the go. Fits in your pocket or purse and takes way better shots than any cell phone does. I highly recommend the vado to anyone.

I do semi-pro video and the Vado is perfect for HD "B" roll. You can hand it to an assistant to do cover shots or pic off crowd faces.
Yes, the audio is weak, but I skip that and use background sound recorded with the "A" camera.
Since it has a standard tripod mount it could be placed anywhere for a second camera at a wedding for cover.
Great value for the price.
Sadly, because of its small size it was overlooked and left aboard the Auto Train while returning from Florida.
I have to get another.

I did a lot of research about portable video cameras and chose the Vado based on what I learned. It is a great camera! And at the B&H price I was amazed at what I got! I highly recommend getting the Vado and buying it from B&H!

Vado has lived up to its reputation as an easy to use HD camera.Keep it simple stupid.Very simple to navigate through the menus can hold its own in low light situations.Compared to other flip cameras a wider capture perfect landscape shots capabilities.Best of all priced to not stay on the shelves for long at the BOX stores.Software reflects its easy operation.In the LOOKS dept. AWESOME smooth lines soft corners.I even like the flip out USB key which Ive read complaints concerns about.Like anything else you can't abuse the rubber USB key holder risk a tear.Only weak spot if I had to point one out.Quick to focus which I found a little surprising from this type of camera.I wish it had an SD card slot but ample memory so no real need.If you need one buy it.If you dont need one buy it.You will need one soon enough at this price you are a fool to pass up on it.I love my Vado and my Vado loves me!!

Pros: Simple to operate, bright screen good for outdoor use, easy software interface i.e. no software to install

Cons: The controls not friendly to those with fat fingers...can cause you to stop the video while attempting zoom in and out. Haven't been able to get the AV out to work yet using AV cable, not HDMI, software has very limited editing capability

I bought this just before going to Yellow stone and it is handy. You can easily cary it in your pocket. It turns on in 3 seconds great picture. I would recomend this product to anyone. The only draw back is it has to be pluged into a usb port to charge.

Bought this to supply cheap HD footage in a small package of a recent research trip to the Maritimes. While the unit is actually pretty good when you're sitting still and just shooting your surroundings. The built in IS software makes for a jelly like look when your moving down a road with the camera hard mounted to your vehicle.

I do like the fact that the focal length is fixed and you're not futzing with focus all the time. But the soft ware provided as far as even basic editing are mediocre at best and even the laziest teenager shooting whatever for his blog or twitter upload is going to be really disappointed with the limited ability.

We use this product mainly to record our two boys to upload to the internet and share with the extended family. The Vado is a great product. It is simple to use and the picture is high quality. The price was also exceptional--we are very pleased with out purchase.

The price is right and built quality is top notch. Video quality is real good with good lighting and not bad in low light. I also noticed that exposure from bright to dim situations takes a couple of seconds to adjust , wider angle lens is very useful so for the money it is sure handy to have in my pocket at all times.

What's the best thing about this camera? Easy to use? Small and easy to carry with you everywhere? Hip? Long recording time? Well...all of that but, the absolute best video period. I am completely blown away as are all my friends. I have already recommended this to two friends who wanted one for themselves. Absolutely no negatives! Completely satisfied as expectations have been exceeded.

I bought the VADO HD just before a family reunion. B&H had a great price [...]The family reunion was fun. We had 48 people from across the US and Canada and took lots of pictures. I kept the VADO HD in my hands taking videos of the group as we posed for pictures, as we ate lunch and talked, as we sat around and as we did activities nearby. My 84 year old mother and her two older sisters including a 95 year old aunt were the center of pictures. They all had stories to tell some of which I was able to record using the VADO HD. The VADO HD is a very light, small camera that was easy to keep in my shorts pocket and easy to take out to use. After a while it is so small and light that it is easy to forget that you have it on you. I took a number of clips of family in various settings indoors and outside in bright sunshine and found the quality of the videos was great. Low light situations seemed to work well and I was impressed by the quality of the videos in daylight. The sound was a problem (not bad but not good) and that is why I didn't give 5 stars. I would like to have an external microphone to pick up voices.What I really like about it is that the camera is very simple. Only a couple buttons and it connects to my computer easily with the attached USB connection. I have had difficulties figuring out how to download the videos on my MacBook using QuickTime Pro[...] It works with the software from my desktop PC but it isn't as functional as iMovie for editing videos. So far I have kept the videos stored on the camera and have not downloaded them on either Mac or PC.
