International orders*This is the Pentax PH-RBK 67mm Lens Hood for the 60-250mm f/4 Lens. The "scalloped" cut-away design permits wide angle shooting.
Lens hoods are primarily designed to prevent unwanted stray light from entering the lens by extending and shading the end of the lens. In addition, since the end of the lens is extended, you also get the added benefit of some extra protection from accidental impact.
The "petal" shape of this lens hood maximizes the amount of hood coverage for the minimum amount of weight and hood area. This dedicated lens hood is designed to match the specific focal length of the lens it was designed for.

Comments about Pentax PH-RBK 67mm Lens Hood:
I love my Pentax DA* 60-250mm lens. The DA* designation means it is one of Pentax's top-of-the-line lenses and it performs as such; the lens hood is no slouch either. In fact, while visiting the Grand Canyon recently, my PH-RBK 67mm Lens Hood may have saved my lens from utter destruction.
It was very early in the morning, it was cold, and it was windy. While moving from one location to another, I suddenly heard a sickening sound behind me - the sound of something heavy hitting the frozen asphalt - hard! I turned to see my prized lens on the ground and the lens hood several feet away. Fearing the worst, I picked up the lens and immediately examined the front element - it was intact; the rear element was still covered and looked fine. In fact, the entire lens looked no worse for wear. A few test shots after my heart rate dropped proved the lens to be unscathed. Seriously?!?!? Upon further examination, I determined that two factors most likely worked in my favor - the heavy tripod mount most likely absorbed the initial impact, but the lens hood absorbed the secondary impact - similar to a bike helmet. The hood turned out to be pretty banged up and cracked in one place, but aside from this and the "catches" that secure it to the lens being broken, it was still intact. Amazing.
This hood helped save the tail of my lens and saved me a major repair and/or replacement bill. If only to help protect an expensive lens like the DA* 60-250mm let alone to help reduce flare, the PH-RBK 67mm Lens Hood is worth every penny to replace.

Bought this to replace a broken hood for DA* 50-135, fits perfectly. It is exactly the same model as the original lens hood.

Comments about Pentax PH-RBK 67mm Lens Hood:
Everything is right about this hood. Starting with it having a bayonet mount. If your lens gets a sharp front end impact, the hood will not transmit energy to the lens the way a screw-in hood can. The longer and heavier the lens, the more important this gets. It also reverses beautifully. The inside is very flat black for light dampening. I looked for this hood at a lot of places and the B&H price was lowest by a good margin among those who even sold it.
