• Blu-ray Disc Features: A Blu-ray disc offers superb picture quality beyond anything available. With full capability 1080p HD resolution in Blu-ray and up to 40 Mbit/secs, encoding 5-10X the capacity of regular DVDs. It also features theater-quality uncompressed audio (supporting 8 channels of Liner PCM), up to 32 streams of audio, interactive capability, seamless menus, integrated games, hi-def bonus and educational features.

• High-Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI) Ver. 1.3: This unit features an HDMI Version 1.3 output, capable of upconverting video signals to 720p, 1080i, or full 1080p HD. This technology enables the BD-P1500 to carry the HD audio and video information through a single cable and achieving the highest quality picture and clearest sound available.

• HDMI Consumer Electronics Control (CEC): The HDMI connection is also CEC enabled, allowing all compatible CEC components (i.e., television and receiver) in the system to communicate with each other. Enjoy the ability to control multiple HDMI components with a single remote control.

• Top-Notch Video Processing: This player utilizes a 216MHz/12-bit video D/A converter that provides high quality 4x over-sampling for 1080i/720p output. Noise-shaping video processing, shifts the noise component to an unused area to further enhance the signal-to-noise ratio. By incorporating these technologies, it realizes super-fine, high-definition images with over 4400 billion colors.

• Multi-Format Versatility: It plays: Blu-ray Discs (BD-R, BD-RE), BD-ROM Profile 1.1, DVD, DVD-R/W, CD, CD-R/W, MP3 and JPEG. Also, the player is backward-compatible, enabling playback of all your favorite DVDs in HD resolution.

• Progressive Scan Technology: This is a progressive scan DVD player, capable of scanning an entire video frame at once; scan-lines commonly associated with interlaced video are drastically reduced. The result is a spectacularly clear image with no motion artifacts (stair-stepping), and details so sharp they seem as if they're etched onto the screen.

• User-Friendly Graphic Interface: It includes various menus and subtitle functions offering the ability to search for detailed content of the video. The full-color, HD animated menu enables full control, and the ability to incorporate your own personal creative touch. When you highlight a menu option on a disc, sound effects can be heard such as button clicks or a voice-over explaining the highlighted menu choice.

• Expanding Technology: BD incorporates stringent licensing control, powerful encryption and other content protection. The Blu-ray disc technology offers the ability to copy its data-content to your compatible components. Also, it offers the flexibility to make managed copies across a home network to enjoy music and movies on your PC.

• Anynet+ Technology: This player features Anynet+ technology through the HDMI cable, enabling linked operation of the player through Samsung TVs that carry the same feature.

• Ethernet//USB Ports: Built-in Ethernet and USB Host connections enable this player to be updated with future Firmware upgrades, applications and services. Note, for software upgrades, USB port supports only a USB flash drive.

• Persistent Storage Management: This unique player features Persistent Storage Management, which is built-in internal flash memory capable of storing Blu-ray disc content (note: dependent on the disc).

• HD Component Video Output: It achieves greater color accuracy and high resolution playback capability when connected via the HD component output to your HD projector, plasma and/or LCD/CRT televisions.

• Home Theater Friendly: Use the optical digital audio output to connect the player to your home theater receiver and enjoy your favorite DVDs in surround sound.

• Parental Control: For parents who want full control of media content played back through player, the player's menu features a parental control and rating system adjustment.
