The Samsung PN42B450 has the features that videophiles demand at a down to earth price. Plasma technology combines the ability to show rich, lush colors with the smoothest moving images possible.
With an incredible 0.001 ms response time the PN42B450 ensures you'll see all of the action with a minimum of motion blur while Wide Color Enhancer 2 ensures the colors stay true to form.
The FilterBright antiglare technology minimizes screen reflections and glare when you're viewing in a well-lit room and helps optimize contrast in a darkened room. From a ball game in the afternoon right up to the late night movie the PN42B450 displays a vivid life-like image.
Create your favorite channels list and you can quickly scan through them with the touch of just one button. This TV will also remember your settings for each video input.
In Game Mode picture and sound quality are optimized for the special needs of gaming systems but this set can process 3-D games too. You'll need to hook up your PC, add the optional 3-D glasses and select a 3-D game (all available separately) and you'll be rockin' in a 3-D world. With this set's 3-D infrared emitter controlling what each eye sees, you'll see TV like you never have before.
- 2,000,000:1 Contrast Ratio
- A contrast ratio this broad means you'll be able to see detail in all parts of the image without "blowing out" the whites because you turned up the brightness to see detail in the dark parts or "crushing" the blacks because you turned down the brightness to see detail in the light parts.
- SRS TruSurround HD
- Most DVDs and Blu-ray discs contain multichannel sound, some encoded with up to seven (6.1) channels. TS HD is the answer if you want to enjoy that sound without an expensive and complex A/V receiver. This is a great TV, the colors are very vibrant compared to my other TV. I really enjoy the amount of options for different components. The sound is a little weak, but I made some adjustments. Most people these days use surround sound anyway so it wouldn't be a problem. Highly reccomend this TV, especially for the price. Can't beat it!!!!!

I have been extremely impressed with the quality of this TV. I mainly use it for video games and movies (PS3/Blu-Ray and Wii). It was very quick and easy to setup, and the preset picture/sound settings have accommodated everything I've done so far. Compared to other, more expensive TVs, I cannot tell much of a difference in quality. Also, unless you were doing a side-by-side comparison, you can see almost no difference between the 1080p and this TV's 720p. I highly recommend this product.

Best thing is the picture quality, its awesome.
Worst thing and its really not bad.. is the sound quality. Of course if you are going to get picky about sound, you should get a surround sound system! The sound is fine, plenty loud, even the commercials (ha!) The TV has multiple preset "equalizer" settings, flipping through them gets you something you can use..

Upgraded from a vizio 37 LCD to the samsung plasma. Tv is great, simple, looks much better and brighter.

In my opinion this is absolutely the best value in HDTV currently available. I love this plasma! Picture FAR exceeded expectations. Nothing comes remotely close to the quality level of this picture anywhere NEAR this price. This TV simply blows away every sub-$2000, non-LED LCD I have seen. If you are at all in the market, do not hesitate to get this. You will not be disappointed!
