The FilterBright antiglare technology minimizes screen reflections and glare when you're viewing in a well-lit room and helps optimize contrast in a darkened room. From a ball game in the afternoon right up to the late night movie the PN50B450 displays a vivid life-like image.
Create your favorite channels list and you can quickly scan through them with the touch of just one button. This TV will also remember your settings for each video input.
In Game Mode picture and sound quality are optimized for the special needs of gaming systems but this set can process 3-D games too. You'll need to hook up your PC, add the optional 3-D glasses and select a 3-D game (all available separately) and you'll be rockin' in a 3-D world. With this set's 3-D infrared emitter controlling what each eye sees, you'll see TV like you never have before.
- 2,000,000:1 Contrast Ratio
- A contrast ratio this broad means you'll be able to see detail in all parts of the image without "blowing out" the whites because you turned up the brightness to see detail in the dark parts or "crushing" the blacks because you turned down the brightness to see detail in the light parts.

- Most DVDs and Blu-ray discs contain multichannel sound, some encoded with up to seven (6.1) channels. This tv is great. It's looks better than in the store. Picture quality is excellent. I was worried about screen burn since this is a plasma but I haven't noticed any so far. I was also worried about the tv being 720P. Now that I own this tv I stopped worrying. It's worth every penny. If you are reading this, just do it. Put it in the cart and purchase. highly recommend
My only complaint is the remote. It seems you have to point it right at the sensor in order for it to work.

Just bought this tv last week. I checked it out with other comparable tvs and also vs. 1080p, and decided 1080p wasn't worth it, and this looked best out of 720p. So far the tv looks great. I read some reviews about burn in problems and I have not had any problems, though I have only watched for about 8 hours. I only gave it 4 stars because I just got the tv and have not had a chance to explore it yet. Also sound quality not so great.

I found this TV new at B&HPhoto.com for an amazing price; Price includes S&H & no tax! My first concern prior to buying was the TV being 720p... My local electronics store had it on display next to several 1080Ps and to my surprise this TV looked better or the same as the ones priced b/w 1500 to 2000 range. Still I had some doubt, but the price was unreal, so I bought it.
Now that I've used it for a while, I am delighted to say that picture is excellent! I've watched a few cartoon movies in blue Ray with my kids and the movies have a 3-D look to them. Terminator Salvation, the newest Harry Potter release in Blue Ray are amazing. You see things that you had not seen before.
Pros:
Picture Quality ---- Do not concern yourself with 1080P if you buy this TV. Even though it is a 720P, I promise you will not notice a difference
Over the airway HD Picture ---- I use an antenna to get over the air Local HD programming and picture is superior,
Standard TV signal ---- The picture image from standard (non-HD) is ok, but most programs I watch are in HD so this is of no concern for me.
Screen size 50" for the price
Refresh rate, contrast, blacks, also this TV has a 3D engine built in for playing games in 3D>I'll never use this but it is a plus.
Reflection is not bad and TV has features built in to help reduce this
Has a good selection of inputs/outputs
Cons:
As with most LCDs/Plasmas--- "Speaker quality/sound"--- it is Ok, but you'll want to upgrade.....I bought an all in one home theater system and for me it does the job and is way better than the speakers that come with the TV, however if you are not a big movie watcher than I would not worry about upgrading.
"Remote" ---- This remote is a way tooooooo busy and might be an issue for some.
"on/off music" --- annoying, every time you turn the TV on or off a short tone plays.. You might be able to turn this off, but i'm not sure....petty I know.
Please note that with current technology you really do not need high dollar $$$$$$ :-( connector cables.
