Comments about Canon imagePROGRAF iPF605:
I bought the Canon to replace a workhorse HP Designjet that made it 15 years before kicking the bucket. HP's CAD-market printers don't match up well in terms of price and features to the iPF 605. The Designjet 111 and 130s are loud, slow, and once you add a network card, more costly than the Canon. The T-Series is well out of this price range as well. Epson doesn't market a CAD-specific printer; and though their photo printers are superb, the cost and complexity is impossible to justify for a small CAD/Design shop. So far the Canon is a champ - quiet, fast, effortless paper-handling and great plots of even complex fonts and small details in line drawings. Only downside is the driver package seems a little dated - needs to be better integrated with standard Mac OS X print preferences protocols.
