I'm really enjoying this camcorder. It's the first one I've bought and I'm glad I held out and got something good. I love the small size that practially fits in my hand and is easy to transport. The controls (zoom, on/off, movie/still) are conveniently placed and easy to operate with the same hand. The magnification on the zoom is excellent. Downloading the images to my computer is simple and I enjoy sharing my videos with others online. The only thing I've noticed so far that is less than ideal is the quality of the still pictures. The resolution is not as good as my 3 megapixel digital camera and I was hoping not to have to carry around two cameras.

This camera was purchased to record children working at therapy tasks. Camera is adequate for recording indoors, but not great. Haven't tried it outdoors with better (brighter) lighting.
If you need a camera for mostly indoors or lower light conditions, and have a larger budget, I would recommend a different model with a better minimum light rating. Don't know about battery life yet - haven't used it enough.
I would recommend this camera.
This is a good, easy to use, basic home video camera at a reasonable price, but if you want really high quality video, you'll have to pay more.

I have been blow away by the sleek appearance and simple, intuitive operation of this camera. Out of the box, and onto the tripod, the click of one simple button and it was working. The amount of space on the internal hard drive is so sufficient, I will never need to purchase a SD card. Transferring the data onto a computer for burning was again so simple. It comes with an instruction manual, but you don't need it!

Bought this camera to replace an eight year old mini DV camera that went bad. Completely satisfied with performance and ease of use to date. Use it mostly for filiming my son's high school basket ball games. The zoom is excellent.
