Designed with the aspiring film maker in mind, the Panasonic HDC-TM300 32GB Full HD Camcorder gives you high end features and the flexibility of flash memory recording. First off, you can record full 1920 x 1080 high def video to the 32GB built-in memory with the option to store overflow footage to SD/SDHC memory cards. The camera's Relay Recording function ensures that you won't run out of space because it automatically switches recording from the built-in memory to SD/SDHC memory card when it's full, or vice versa. Capturing all that beautiful video would be the three 1/4.1" CMOS sensors which add up to total 9.15MP, named "3MOS", by Panasonic. The sensors also record 10.6MP stills and 8.3MP when recording both video and still images simultaneously.
Other features attractive to those looking to hone their video skills include microphone and headphone terminals, a must for getting high quality audio. In addition, an electronic viewfinder and manual control ring give you even more flexibility. Another plus would be compatibility with Mac for editing in iMovie. The HDC-TM300 rounds out its features with solid optics, including a Leica Dicomar lens, 12x optical zoom, and Advanced O.I.S.

Looking for a compact lightweight memory only full HD recording device with option to use a manual focus ring? This is it!
Record mostly outdoors with plenty of light most the time, then this is doing a great job, while at low light settings the image is getting quickly noisy -- so be warned.
The touch screen control works fine for me, in contrast to some cons I found in other reviews.
You get about 4 hours full HD video on the internal 32G at highest quality setting. Plus option to stick in extra SD card(s) for extending recording time.
The included battery is good for 2 hours -- think of getting a second may be bigger one...
You may like the build in time lapse functions as well.
It is a little on the expensive side for it's kind...

This camcorder would have been perfect if it did not have 2 major flaws. First, it's menu and advanced functions are just to complicated to access. Before you can make "some" picture adjustments, you must go through a gontlet of touchscreen presses, and to re-adjust you must go through the procedure all over again. Very frustrating. Panasonic would have done better to make this camcorder more simple and user friendly, and do away with some of the more redundant features. Secondly, an input for a wired remote that could be used on a tripod handle would have been a major selling aid for this unit.

Comments about Panasonic HDC-TM300 32GB Full HD Camcorder:
I've had this camcorder for a year now and really love it. It shoots great video and is very easy to set up with touch screen controls. It is similar to the newer TM700. Only difference I can see is that the 700 shoots progressive video instead of 1080i. The three chips certainly gives a crisp picture and surpasses all of the one chippers in this price range.
i do a lot of wildlife video and the compact size is great. Having a veiwfinder and a screen is a bonus although I use the flip out screen most of the time. And the AVC-HD works superbly with Final Cut Studio

Comments about Panasonic HDC-TM300 32GB Full HD Camcorder:
After about 2 weeks of use I am pleased with this camcorder. The HD videos it takes are as good as I get with my Time Warner cable programs viewed on a 12 foot screen. My main reason for choosing the Panasonic over a comparable Canon was the electronic color viewfinder. This is a must for me when shooting outdoors in bright sunlight--and so far performs exactly as advertised. My only complaint is that the automatic white balance tends to make scenes look too blue shooting in low light indoors. I have found that the Corel VideoStudio Pro X3 software does the best job of interfacing with the camcorder and has produced good 30 minute videos. The included Panasonic software is very minimal in performance and its user interface leaves much to be desired.

I am extremmly happy with this camcoder. My son's high school basketball games look on my Panansonic plasma tv as good as NCAA or NBA in HD. What else can I say about...?

Comments about Panasonic HDC-TM300 32GB Full HD Camcorder:
I looked around every day on the internet for the BEST camcorders. I looked for weeks, I finally decided on this one, based on all the reviews. I got it on Thursday, and was leaving the next day for the mountains with my family. I was really amazed how easy it was to operate, all the kids tried it out.The vedio quality was as promised, everything so far way exceeds all my expectations. The photo quality was incredible. The only downside was as reviewed, the vedio editing software was not up to the high end as the camcorder was.

Comments about Panasonic HDC-TM300 32GB Full HD Camcorder:
Only had the camcorder for two weeks and still learning how to use it. The picture is wonderful in HD with the camcorder and the 5.1 sound when used with a surround sound system make you feel as if your there at the event.
A down side is the auto white balance during some recordings changes and makes the video some what washed out. But since the camcorder is still new to me I need to learn it's in's and out's.
It's still a great camcorder and look forward to using it in the future. Much better picture and sound than the Canon ES2000 that I replaced with the TM300.

Comments about Panasonic HDC-TM300 32GB Full HD Camcorder:
I've had the tm300 for a couple of weeks. I'm a semi pro videographer and am currently using the tm300 on a short human interest documentary. It is fairly easy to use, I have never used the auto white balance because it is not very accurate but it is easy to set it manually. It can be tedious when shooting manually to scroll through apertures and shutter speeds if you need to make quick adjustments. This is where the touch screen sensitivity problems show up and cannot interpret multiple rapid taps on the screen. You can get better response when you are in viewfinder mode which allows you to use the focus ring to control wb, shutter, and aperture (why not with the lcd open?). I kind of miss the way my old standard definition jvc had a quick little spot meter control that you could set exposure to any place on the screen with a couple clicks. Too bad other cameras don't include that feature. As for the image, it really impressed me and the camera seems to have a really good dynamic range especially in back-lit shots. I haven't had much time to play around outside at night so I can't comment on the vaunted low-light performance although there seems to be very little noise when shooting in dark places. The internal mic is lame but not more than on any other consumer camera. I really like the timelapse feature it's great for those lackluster exterior shots. In spite of the short falls of the touch screen most features remain rather easily accessible.
I'm always trying to push the limits of my cameras and I have yet to reach the full potential of this cam. It does however look promising.

With the exception of it's grainy, noisy low light performance, which I understand is somewhat typical for digital cameras in this range, this is a wonderful HD camera. The picture quality outside and in well-lit situations is amazing.

Comments about Panasonic HDC-TM300 32GB Full HD Camcorder:
I use the camcorder for recording live concerts - both indoors and outdoors. It works very well and the sound quality is surprisingly good, even if the camcorder is placed in a strange location. It's also very easy to take good pictures WHILE you are recording video. It's a great little camcorder and not too expensive for what you get. The picture quality is crystal clear in the daytime, and very satisfying even with minimal stage lights in a dark room. The availability of many manual controls really helps out as well.

I went to Florida's west coast and took fantastic sunset with time lapse of the clouds and the gulf beaches.
Love the option to use my view finders, since it is always hard to look in the LCD in a bright Florida sun.
I understand that people have hard time with the LCD touch screen, but to me it worked just fine
The still photos are not as sharp as I expected
