Panasonic's SDR-H80 60GB Standard Definition Camcorder is an entry-level option for the budget-minded. This lightweight camera features hybrid recording to both the 60GB hard disk drive and to removable SD/SDHC memory cards, while the included VideoCam software ensures easy uploading to YouTube.
If you're intimidated by menus and numerous functions, the Intelligent Auto (iA) mode keeps things simple. iA mode automatically adjusts the H80's settings depending on the scene, allowing features like Face Detection and Scene Detection to take over, making sure you get the best shot possible.
The SDR-H80 also boasts Panasonic's Optical 70x Ultra Zoom lens for zooming in on far off subjects with little to no loss in image quality. Advanced O.I.S., another useful tool, corrects for blur caused by motion and hand shake.

Comments about Panasonic SDR-H80 60GB Standard Definition Camcorder (Red):
We are still learning to use the camcorder, but from what we've seen so far, we like it. Decent price, simple to use, video quality great for what we need it for. May not be good enough to make professional films with, but for our casual use, seems fine so far. The quality of the sound surprised us--much better than we expected. And I love the red color!

Comments about Panasonic SDR-H80 60GB Standard Definition Camcorder (Red):
I use it for general use -family video and also for youth sports instructional video. The zoom capability is unmatched and feels natural when holding the camera during video capture.
I did find it a surprise that you can't charge the battery while the camera is using the AC input. This is always a convenient time to charge up and still be able to use the camera.
the software loaded easily and is fairly intuitive although I have not used the editing capabilities yet.
Picture quality is great with Panasonic lenses and I have confidence in the reliability of all panasonic products since this company manufacures all the parts themselves.
Great camera. I recommend it for standard definition uses.

Comments about Panasonic SDR-H80 60GB Standard Definition Camcorder (Red):
After some research and because I own a Panasonic Camera. I decided to buy this camcorder. First impression it looks good (small and very light), the optical zoom 70X and 60GB hard drive make it very impressive.
The biggest downside to this camcorder is the video quality. I shot a couple of shots in the morning under daylight and the image quality was very good. However, with no sunshine the image quality is very shady and bad. Imagine even with a house that is brightly lit the image looked very grainy and not good quality. The backlit feature does not help either.

Great camcorder considering the money paid ([$]). Very easy to use and easy to transfer the video on your computer. The still photograph quality is not that great but you get what you pay for. Overall I would recommend this product.

It should be zero star.
x70 optical zoom of blurry image has no use.
It's simply waste of S&H money.
To return this product, I had to pay S&H, it was waste of money.
