Panasonic's SDR-H80 60GB Standard Definition Camcorder is an entry-level option for the budget-minded. This lightweight camera features hybrid recording to both the 60GB hard disk drive and to removable SD/SDHC memory cards, while the included VideoCam software ensures easy uploading to YouTube.
If you're intimidated by menus and numerous functions, the Intelligent Auto (iA) mode keeps things simple. iA mode automatically adjusts the H80's settings depending on the scene, allowing features like Face Detection and Scene Detection to take over, making sure you get the best shot possible.
The SDR-H80 also boasts Panasonic's Optical 70x Ultra Zoom lens for zooming in on far off subjects with little to no loss in image quality. Advanced O.I.S., another useful tool, corrects for blur caused by motion and hand shake.

Comments about Panasonic SDR-H80 60GB Standard Definition Camcorder (Blue):
This camera exceeded my expectations in nearly every way. It is light weight and easy to use. The zoom is great and the battery life is very good (although an extra battery is very pricey). It is easy to switch from movie mode to snapshot mode and to review all that's been shot. The snapshot button is not in the greatest location but still ok. I would recommend this camcorder to anyone that doesn't require hi-def.

I use this camera for shooting product videos, customer interviews, and a lot more. Small, compact design which is great for traveling. Video quality is pretty good for the price. I run most of my video with XP format. Software that comes with the camera is very basic and not very versatile.

Comments about Panasonic SDR-H80 60GB Standard Definition Camcorder (Blue):
Pretty decent overall. 14+ hours of record time in highest quality mode. Don't like the way it breaks filming into clips every time you hit pause. Software can play those as one, but is still annoying.
Buttons a little hard to operate and AC and USB jacks behind battery compartment is a very bad design.
Overall, good camera and would recommend simply because the zoom is awsome and has zoom mic and super tiny so easy to carry around.

This camera is great for capturing life's little memories. If you need a camera for taking family videos that are of good, but not professional quality, this is a great, affordable buy!
You can't find a better price anywhere else besides B&H Photo Video, either!

Compact
Great zoom
Good image stabilization feature
Cons:
Video quality just OK
Menu features just OK

I checked this product out in a couple of local stores and then ordered it through B&H because of the great price there. It is a wonderful camera. Very easy to use and takes great movies. I haven't tried all of the features yet, but, it seems to do so much in a small camera. I love that it can fit in a small purse and go everywhere. Nothing to lug around!
