Panasonic SDR-H80 60GB Standard Definition Camcorder (Black)
Panasonic's SDR-H80 60GB Standard Definition Camcorder is an entry-level option for the budget-minded. This lightweight camera features hybrid recording to both the 60GB hard disk drive and to removable SD/SDHC memory cards, while the included VideoCam software ensures easy uploading to YouTube.
If you're intimidated by menus and numerous functions, the Intelligent Auto (iA) mode keeps things simple. iA mode automatically adjusts the H80's settings depending on the scene, allowing features like Face Detection and Scene Detection to take over, making sure you get the best shot possible.
The SDR-H80 also boasts Panasonic's Optical 70x Ultra Zoom lens for zooming in on far off subjects with little to no loss in image quality. Advanced O.I.S., another useful tool, corrects for blur caused by motion and hand shake.

This camcorder stopped working on us less than 1 month of having it. And to make it even better, we purchased the extended warranty but because it was still under the manufacturer's warranty we have to go through them to get it fixed and they are asking us to pay to ship it!! We already paid for a camcorder that stopped working less than a month from getting it and then we have to put out more $ to get it fixed!!
The quality is ok. It do record and have a great zoom but other than that, the lighting is pretty rough.

I used the camera on safari and have raves about the 70x zoom. I was able to view the Wildebeest migration close-up as well as lion and crocodiles in action.
The 70x zoom is awesome.
The downloading process is not easy. If you do not follow the confusing instructions precisely, you risk destroying your camera. I use and would only advise using memory cards - not the hard drive to down-load. Other than that glitch, I loved using the camera.

I got the camera installed the software and started to make videos, this thing is so easy a kid can work this video camera. It makes nice clean videos not Hi Def but good. sound quality is superb stereo zoom with dolby and the image stabilizer is great. I am very happy with this new toy, and the price was right!

I have purchased this for home purpose. This is good and having 70x zoom, but the images goes blur and shaky after 40-50x.

Very good optical zoom. Easy to use and easy to load video to YouTube. The menu controls are simple and the software is easy to load.
One negative is that the inputs for the usb cord are behind the battery - so the battery must be removed and you need to switch to the AC power to off load video.

I really like having a hard drive for storing my videos. This seemed to be the best deal and not go over $300. I don't use all the editing features because I just use my Mac to do that. The only thing I haven't figured out, and don't know if it will do this is record in the dark. Other than that, I really like it.
