The affordable HDR-CX100 High Definition Handycam Camcorder (Silver) from Sony offers high definition recording along with compact design and smart features. Capture true 1920 x 1080 2.3MP video and 4MP stills to the 8GB embedded flash memory or to Memory Stick Duo media, with the added bonus of not having to worry about carrying around bulky DVDs or tapes. Memory Stick media also makes for easy uploading to your compatible computer or printer, enabling printing, editing, and sharing in emails or on social networking sites.

The Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar lens with 10x optical zoom and SteadyShot image stabilization works with the 1/5" Exmor CMOS sensor and the 2.7" wide touch panel LCD to help you create clean and accurate video each and every time you shoot. In addition, other user-friendly features like Face Detection and Smile Shutter technology ensure that everyone in the frame looks their best.

The HDR-CX100 gives you the convenience of flash memory at a budget-friendly price.

• Record to the Embedded Flash Memory or Memory Stick Media: Record your video and still images to the 8GB embedded flash memory or Memory Stick Duo media (optional) with the HDR-CX100. Footage stored to the embedded memory can be transferred to Memory Stick media for easy upload to compatible computers or printers.

• 1/5" Exmor CMOS Sensor: Sony's 1/5" Exmor CMOS sensor with ClearVid array captures brilliant 2.3MP videos and 4MP stills. The BIONZ image processor works together with the sensor to reduce image noise and improve response time.

• Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar Lens with 10x Optical Zoom: The professional quality Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar lens features precision ground optics for sharp, true-to-life image capture. The 10x optical zoom captures far off subjects with no loss in image quality.

• 2.7" Wide Touch Panel LCD: The generous 2.7" LCD gives you an accurate display on which to compose and playback your shots, while also providing an intuitive surface to navigate menus and other functions. The 270° rotation of the screen helps capture hard-to-get shots and aids in viewing upon playback.

• 4MP Stills: Capture 4MP digital stills with the HDR-CX100. You can also simultaneously record video and capture 2.3MP stills with the camera's Dual Record mode.
