Comments about Sony HDR-CX100 High Definition Handycam Camcorder (Silver):
I use the HDR-CX100 for vacation and family pix.
I like the "record" button on the LCD screen. This helps stabilize the camera. This is important because of the mini size. Along the same lines, you pay for the compact size just a little as you hold it by the wrist strap. I guess I have large hands and that makes it a little difficult for the fingers to curl up and land on the correct button. Also, it would be neat if you could take photos using the "record" button on the fold out LCD screen...........minor detail.

Comments about Sony HDR-CX100 High Definition Handycam Camcorder (Silver):
I recently purchased this camcorder (after reading a gazillion reviews) because we are having our first child. First, the clarity and quality are literally amazing, especially outside. This camcorder is perfect for the person looking for high quality at a reasonable price. The only cons I have noticed so far are the camcorder is not great in low light situations and the menu can be a pain to navigate. B&H had the best price on this camcorder and had all the accessories (MINI HDMI cord, 8g pro duo card, handycam soft case) that I was looking to buy.

Comments about Sony HDR-CX100 High Definition Handycam Camcorder (Silver):
Bought it for video "taping" kids sporting events and family events. Outstanding outdoor quality, indoor was better than my Sony DVR. My only problem was with the supplied software disk. My new Dell Laptop, running Windows XP, crashed everytime I tried to install the software. I finally removed it and installed only the drivers from Sony.com. Not sure why this happened. Overall, very happy with my purchase. (Used the Normal Zoom from the stands at a H.S. Football game and it looked like we were taping the game from the sideline!)

Comments about Sony HDR-CX100 High Definition Handycam Camcorder (Silver):
Very good HD movies for the price and size of this cam, better filming outside with sunlight, if at night use extra light to get same quality of at day light. You must use extra light to get HD quality. Even though you can get stander quality to watch in tube TVs not HD TVs. I filmed a Wedding and everybody loved the HD quality. If you use close up you can get 1080p quality. But don't use too much zoom, use less zoom as possible. Turn off digital zoom, the 10x optical is enough to do the job. Buy a better battery 3800 and extras 8GB HD Memories mark 2 and them you are all set. Always record at better HD possible. Don't listening those people saying this cam is not good on Mac, just plug your cam to your Mac and imovie 09 will do rest. For windows users it comes with a nice software to convert files, and make dvds. In both systems it takes a while to convert 8GB files about 1 or 2 hours. But once done you can make how many dvds you wanna. You can record HD quality on regular DVDs to play on BlueRay players on HDTVs; or you can record DVDs to play on regular DVD players.
