Leica's 25-50x WW Aspherical Eyepiece for their 65mm and 82mm Televid spotting scopes is an exciting watershed device, a reason unto itself to choose Leica over the other premium brands. It is the first zooming telescope eyepiece which has a wide angle of apparent field of view throughout its zooming range, instead of exclusively in the higher-magnification range as is the case with other zooms.
The apparent field here goes from 59 to an astounding 80°, surrounding your eye with a view that is only more vast in a handful of fixed-magnification extreme wide angle specialists in the astronomy realm. Despite this, eye relief maintains a constant, comfortable distance of 19mm. Like any modern eyepiece it has a rubber armored body with helicoid-style eyecup, and like all Leica eyepieces it is nitrogen filled and individually tested to assure its watertight status.
