Take the incredibly lightweight MHS-CM1 Webbie HD Camera (Silver) with you everywhere to capture all the crazy things your friends do and more. This high definition camera records in the MP4 format, which means all your video and still images will upload easily for emailing and posting to social networking sites.
And the MHS-CM1 has your back with a 5MP CMOS sensor that records up to 8.5 hours of incredible images - still or video - to a 16GB Memory Stick. Not only that, but the 5x digital zoom gives you the power to record far off action with clarity.
In addition, the camera's 2.5" swivel LCD rotates up to 270° which makes it ideal for self-recording and capturing video from normally hard to view angles. Other fun features like an LED video light give you the ability to shoot video at night while individual "Movie" and "Still" buttons help keep things simple.

As a professional film-maker I read the many reviews about this video camera, especially the ones saying the camera is not any good in low light situations.
Having come from a background in 35mm and HD production workflows I've found these comments to be inaccurate. The camera is more than able to shoot under ambient light with interior building lighting without even needing to switch modes to low light. While the camera doesn't have nightvision, it certainly can perform adequately in low light and if a scene is too dark then normal film-making lighting rules apply.
The only real issue I have with the camera, and this can be taken into consideration with your shooting style, is that because of the way the chip sensor images things progressively there's a lot of warble or distortion left to right if there is a lot of movement in the camera, during panning or while filming moving aircraft propellers and helicopter rotor blades.
Others have said there's no lens cap and no hand strap but that is not true, I have both attached and they work just as designed.
I'm extremely happy with this purchase, the price is great and I'm hoping I can get a 2nd camera soon to start creating 3d video productions.

My wife and I bought the camera so that we could have is ready when our first child is born. We have started to use the camera and are happy with its size, price, simplicity. There are a few things that bug us though. First off it is not very comfortable to hold for long periods of time. Also, the quality in low light is not very good. I am also not very happy that it only records in .MP4, which makes it difficult to view on Windows Vista. I have had to convert all the files to DIVX before I can even put them together in Windows Move Maker.

This is a killer little handheld camera for the person wanting to make the jump into HD. I shoot professional promotional video for an agricultural company across the midwest, and we'd been shooting with an old Hi-8 camera for the past several years.
Pros: We wanted to dip our feet into the HD pool, so we decided to go with the Webbie. It has done a great job. The quality is killer and the sound is good. Plus, if it gets dropped out in a field while filming, we're not out a huge amount of money. This would be a good starter camera for a teen.
Cons: The bells and whistles are minimal (which I knew when I bought it). It would be nice to have a mic plug in for wireless lav use, but you can't win them all.

I didn't know what to expect from this product. The size is great, the use of the camera is very easy to figure out. My 2 year old loves to ham it up in front of the camera. Its all for him anyway. Battery last really well. only down side would be having to use a memory stick. and the cost of those.

I've always paid extra to get sony products and have been pleased.. until this purchase. I know it's only [$] but the quality just isn't there. When filming indoors the video is very dark.. even with the light on. No brightness option and basically worthless for filming indoors under normal indoor lighting. I purchased the "flip" for less money and have nice indoor video resolution. Love my other sony products but they don't live up to the name on this one.

I use this camera to capture epic moments on film so we can watch things blow up, and friends get hurt, over and over again
I love that when you flip it open it turns on right away, it's super fast.
My only complaint is that there is no night-vision, and the light that it does have isn't very bright.

My little "future director" made is currently editing our holiday footage. Everytime we turned around there was a camera in our face. He loves it so much, the video quality is great, it's light and easy to use. Great product!

I purchased this camera as a gift for my 12 year old brother for Christmas. I am a cinematographer and he has show interest in shooting.
For the price- the camera is terrific. He's been able to get some very high quality shots and cut together quite a few things. The battery life is great and the 8gb card gives him 5hrs of shooting which is more than enough.
It also picks up surprisingly good sound. Obviously, the camera is not for pros but for beginners, home movies or quick facebook/youtube adds- it's perfect.
The only thing I have not been able to fully assess is it's compatability with an editing programme. I got him the Magix Movie Editing software because it's compatable with the MP4s and easy to use for a beginner but his laptop doesn't have enough RAM to fully assess whether the programme is working well. I've been told that the camera is not very compatible with most programmes.

We bought the webbie for our 12 year old who has been using our cameras for video filming over the last few years. The price makes this affordable for starting out and learning the basics of taking movies, and an added bonus of shooting still pictures, too. The price was great and it came with a case for the camera, too.

this camera was bought for an 11 year old. It's very user friendly. He has already created great memories in just a week of use. We should have bought this a while ago , and probably bought two. So glad we bought this camera.

This little camcorder offers very good video image quality. The MP4 format isn't really a problem, you just need a newer PC and the correct codecs installed and you can forget a PC if you use a Playstation 3 or a PSP for playback. The playback quality on the PSP and PS3 is phenomenal!! Note that the PSP can only playback videos recorded in VGA res while the PS3 can playback all. I got a microSDHC to MSPro Duo adapter to use with this and life is sweet!! The only thing missing from this cam is Optical Image Stabilization and maybe quicker AF. Great Overall!

I chose this one to give to my fiance because it had everything in one that he was looking for, small and compact, extremly light, HD, strong battery life. The videos come out great but the sound is a little soft.

We bought this video camera because I am expecting and wanted a camera when the baby was born. It has really high quality and it is so small it is not a clutter to carry! I love it! My cousin bought another Sony Video Camera and spent 4 times more for such a large camera memory... I liked this one because well for one it's a lot cheaper and I can just buy multiple cards so I can record as much as I want. I don't need an excess of space because this is perfect and affordable!

We'd been wanting a camera for awhile and this one looked like a good one for the price. We haven't used it a whole lot but it's been pretty straight forward to operate and it's definitely small enough to take with you anywhere. Haven't tried uploading video to the web with it yet, but that functionality was one of the selling points, for sure. It's not a professional camera but it's a good one for the price. No real surprises, it's just what we expected when we ordered it.

it is small and looks pretty but in low light conditions (and i mean apartment lit with regular lights) it performs horribly..focus is slow and sometimes the camera cant find anything to focus on and keeps refocusing. white balance is terrible it just cycles thru various color temperatures..
mpeg4 has to be converted to some other form to be used in video editing software..so you have to spend more money on coverter..plus it only accepts memory stick..and that's limiting
