I have been without a sound system for a couple of years thanks to a lightning strike. After reviewing several items I choose to go with the PD1000A. I agree with other reviews there are a lot of lights, but that does not bother us and we don't sit there and stare at it.
Sound quality is excellent and power of the system is beyond my expectations. I was bounching pictures off the wall this past weekend. Delivery was prompt and the product was packaged to prevent damage. It was actually triple boxed.
Cooling fan can be heard if you are near the set, but is not to loud, but we do not have it any type of entertainment unit.
CD drawer works smoothly and the remote directs the system with no hesitation.
Only using 1 set of Bose 301 speakers with it currently, but will be adding outdoor speakers in the spring.
So far I would recommend this product and B&H.

Product was damaged on arrival. The clear face plate was broken and had fallen into the CD/DVD tray below. I set it up to review the sound--quality was good, but I couldn't get past the poor quality of the construction and the extreme lighting. The remote didn't function ( I assume because of the broken face plate ) and the paper label was a bit on the cheap.[...] I then purchased a Dynex DX-HTIB for 120.00 which is quiet good for the money. It plays CDs/DVDs, has a USB and HDMI input/out respectively; has a nice radio and remote to boot. It is a slimmer profile with less buttons than the Pyle and it has pleasant lighting. It also came with a full range of surround sound speakers which I did not need. [...]

Comments about Pyle Pro PD1000A 1000W AM/FM Receiver with DVD/MP3/USB Player:
I was looking for a single-unit receiver that would support my outdoor entertainment center. This one does it all. The DVD/CD player is compatible with all disks (DVD, CD, CD-R, etc...)the AM/FM radio and iPhone input jack works great. I have not tried the USB port yet. It has two additional RCA input ports for additiojnal components. I have a wireless A/V receiver and MagicSing Karaoke mic hooked to those. The remote control is a good feature. Owner's manual is not too detailed but for someone familiar with electronic terms/acronyms it is easily understood.

Received this Pyle and right out of the box,I hooked the unit up, turned it on (as per directions) and noticed the face plate was dislodged into the CD/DVD Tray. Bits and pieces of plastic inside the unit. Radio played only. CD / DVD tray was slightly mis-aligned. Lights on this unit were too bright. Remote was non-functional with cheap paper facing for the remote button identification. [...]I went to [...]and purchased a Dynex DX-HTIB for 120 dollars and have been pleased with the construction, sound and layout. I'm soured on Pyle but not B&H.

I am absolutely thrilled with this receiver. I really wasn't expecting it to be so nice for the money but this thing rocks. It is a replacement receiver for one that I have had for a very long time (played 8 tracks if that tells you the age)and I have several others (different brands). I have this one connected to an antique jukebox in a game-room. Just love it.

Comments about Pyle Pro PD1000A 1000W AM/FM Receiver with DVD/MP3/USB Player:
Pros: cost, usb & Ipod/iphone inputs or jack
Cons: it doesn't have separate volume controls for A & B outputs. Had to buy banana plugs to attach the speakers. Cooling fan is a little on the loud side, but not a problem for me.

When you turn it off the radio stations revert to a preset. The repeat button has no visible indicator. The documentation is poor at best.

Comments about Pyle Pro PD1000A 1000W AM/FM Receiver with DVD/MP3/USB Player:
I was looking for a non-surround sound (i.e. not 5.1/7.1) amplifier for some older BOSE 501 speakers. I use them for playback in my small home recording/practice studio. Ample power to properly push those, as well as a couple of 301 bookshelf speakers. Great value. I do wish there was a simple EQ and combinable input selection, but I can control both those aspects with some previous acquired equipment, so no problem.
