Is primariy used outdoors tho there will be some taping of lessons. Results are all used to produce dvd video for use in training.

Disadvantage I did not realize at the time is that there is no remote accessory which would have been very helpful when taping lessons. Will just have to work harder in post edit.

Im using filming skate and other stuffs and the image quality is amazing. 1080 RULES!... Very small camera, simple to use.

The only problem is that the HD videos are soo heavy that my Mac Book Pro 2.26 dont preview de .MTS video files in total frame rate. But that isnt a problem of the camera, but my Mac :(... i will try with the 2GB RAM news that i bought here too.

amazing picture quality in good lighting.
low light quality goes way down very grainy.
high frames per sec mode goes into a standard picture mode.
battery life only 100 min ok but not long enough for a long play or a game and anything more.
hard drive size is amazing plenty of room so you dont feel you have to remove videos every time you use it.
B&H has best price for this camera i looked for three days!
camera very small easy to hold.
lcd is bright easy to see in bright light.
software for this camera is hard to come by expect to pay 100 for decent editing software.
but note i didnt play with the software that came with it.
oh and the pictures it takes are pretty good also didnt expect them to look as good as they turned out
All in all happy with camera if lighting is !!

Bought this for my father, since it was the closest to my Sony HDR-SR11 (discontinued). I expected a very similar camera, based on the specs. My first surprise is that the camera is even smaller. Still comfortable to use, yet.

It does not have a viewfinder. I don´t remember the last time I shot without the LCD, so this is not an issue to me, but may be for you.

Manual lens cover is a little bit annoying. When you turn it on it warns you if it´s closed, but it´s easy to forgot it open when you shut it off.

Image quality is great. Absolutely no need to shoot in anything but the highest quality because 80Gb gives you almost 6 hours of recording time.

This cam has indeed good picture quality, but however, the Slow motion resolution is poor. hte PMB browser software has very basic features.

Things should have been better for the price of this cam.

We purchased this camera specifically because it's a hard drive model and our employer no longer lets us upload photos from SD cards, flash drives, etc. because of computer viruses. We actually need a camera for still photos, not video. I can't say that it did a great job indoors because it doesn't have a flash. On the sample shots I took, the indoor shots looked a little blurry, and the ones I took in low light areas were terrible. Outdoors, it performed much better. This camcorder might be great if you use it in areas with lots of light, but for our use I can't say that it did the job very well. I do like the fact that it tells you how much battery time you have left. I wish the manufacturers would make still cameras with hard drive capabilities! If you want pictures, you're best to stick with a regular camera, not a camcorder. I didn't think the pictures were the equivalent of those of a 4MP still camera, but I think the lighting was the main problem.
