Lost my original eyecup for the Olympus E-30. BH could not provide me with the original but suggested this one instead. It's a bit larger but actually more comfortable than the original.

the rubber composition is softer, and it feels as if there is an air pocket inside. The original eyecup for the e-3 was harder and solid rubber.
With glasses, either eyecup is as annoying to me. I would prefer something smaller like on the E-1, so if you really liked the E-1 eyecup, the only thing close is the EP-5
The only complaint about the construction is that the rubber can tear out of the mount. The rubber cup is fastened at the back of this eyecup with a small frame and some tiny screws.... while hiking, I have had the eyecup snag and come loose from the mount. Once it tears at one or more of the little screw holes, it won't stay on the frame of the eyecup any more.
If you aren't in a situation where this is an issue - it's a wonderful eye cup. It DOES fit better than the original did, I had bought a few of these as a replacement. Now, I don't lose them, I just tear them up from abuse.
Worth the money - get the olympus branded one here, watch out for others that aren't olympus branded (I have tried a few of those and they were not as well made)
5 stars for a great product, minus one star because I have torn 2 and am now on my third.

I lost a rubber eye and not very upset about this. It was very hard, and I had to raise glasses on the forehead, to make the shot. Now, with this new eye shade everything much easier. Rubber soft, easy to take photos even with glasses. I even felt sorry that bought just one. And if you lose again?
