The Everio S GZ-MS120 Flash Memory Camcorder (Garnet Red) from JVC embraces solid state media by offering two, SD/SDHC memory card slots. Record up to 80 hours, of life's little moments directly to these convenient cards (in 32GB card, in Eco mode). Forget carrying around tapes, DVDs or transferring footage from the hard drive - flash memory is as easy as it gets. When you're ready to share your footage online with friends and family, the camera features One-Touch Export to iTunes and One-Touch Upload to YouTube. The GZ-MS120 also doubles as a digital still camera, so leave that little point and shoot at home.
Other defining features of the MS120 include the KONICA MINOLTA lens with 40x Dynamic Zoom. The 40x zoom lets you capture your child's game winning goal with clarity and virtually no loss in image quality. And you can replay that moment again and again, for everyone to see, on the 2.7" LCD display. When you want to switch things up, the Laser Touch Operation system is right on the frame of the LCD, offering a convenient way to navigate the camera's controls. Affordable and user-friendly, the GZ-MS120 is a value for those looking to share their lives with far off friends and family.

Comments about JVC Everio S GZ-MS120 Flash Memory Camcorder (Garnet Red):
This is a basic home video cam. Video quality is good. Low light conditions no problem, since I think the LED light could be seen from outer space. The menu seems randomly organized so it takes some practice to be comfortable finding the card selection (A/B) and battery level. I wish it had a remote, but that is not a deal breaker.
Down side: The control buttons are really small, especially the On/Off button.

Comments about JVC Everio S GZ-MS120 Flash Memory Camcorder (Garnet Red):
Bought this product after much research online. Didn't want to cough up the big bucks for high def, especially since this is our first video camera. Our intended use was home movies and such. We were looking at the hard drive std def cameras and then came across the flash drive versions. This was the best choice by far. No danger of crashing a hard drive. Flash memory is cheap and provides more than enough recording time. We are using an 8gb sdhc and 16gb sdhc, which provides more than 12 hours of video. Dual slots on this version was a big selling point and works well.
pros:
*awesome zoom lens - took video at an air show and was able to zoom in a cockpit from miles away.
*easy to use
*lightweight
*compact
cons:
*snapshots - hard to get good still images - this was talked about in reviews of many video cameras. But we bought this camera for great std def video *transferring video to pc - included s/w not compatible with vista 64-bit. But did download and use sdcopy.exe to transfer directly from sd card to pc
unknown: have not had chance to view videos on TV, so can't speak to video quality yet.
