Comments about XL-WPH3 45W DC Power Supply for Sound Devices Recorders and Mixers:
My one gripe about this guy is that the cord which attaches the mixer to the adapter-thinger is too darn short.
In situations where my MixPre-D is not swinging from my neck it lives atop one of my tripods via the handy tripod mount SoundDevices provided. In such situations, because of the shortness of the cord, that heavy adapter unit hangs awkwardly down from the MixPre instead of resting comfortably on the floor. It is a setup which seems to me to put too much stress on the four-pin connector.
Small gripe, yes. Unreasonable? Maybe. But the tripod mount is included and all of the camera manufacturers seem to have figured it out.
In any event it is a problem easily fixed with good old Yankee ingenuity and a little gaffer's tape.

Comments about XL-WPH3 45W DC Power Supply for Sound Devices Recorders and Mixers:
I have the sound device mixers 552 and 302. This is a no brainer for me anytime I have a power connection. I have to to record live events and sometimes don't have the luxury of being able switch batteries. The stress of going to the limits a the AA batts especially when I have to supply phantom power to several mics. It is also saves me on the battery cost and availability. I like the locking hirose connector. I also like that it fits all the SD mixers.
