Sony DCR-SR47 60GB Handycam Camcorder (Blue)
The entry-level Sony DCR-SR47 60GB Handycam Camcorder (Blue) records to both the 60GB hard disk drive and optional Memory Stick PRO Duo media. Capture up to 45 hours of video (in LP mode) to the HDD; should you need more storage, record additional footage to Memory Stick media. You can even transfer your video and still images to the Memory Stick for easy uploading to your compatible computer or printer.
The DCR-SR47 also boasts a professional-quality Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar lens with 60x optical zoom and SteadyShot image stabilization. These features work together with the 2.7" wide touch panel LCD and 1/8" Advanced HAD CCD image sensor to provide clear, detailed images of your child's play or just a day at the beach.
The camcorder also has a myriad of other functions designed to simplify recording, so you can focus on the moment instead of fumbling with complicated menus. When you're ready to share your memories, the Sony PMB software and features like one-touch disk burn help with uploading to social media sites and making DVD copies.

I purchased the Sony DCR-SR47 Handycam Camcorder in time for Christmas. This is my first experience with a digital camera. I love so many features on this camera..the ease of pointing the camera and shooting the images you want to film, the touchscreen features, playback etc. If I had to say that this camera had any flaws it would be that you do need a steady hand as the picture can bounce if you are not carefull and the fact that you do need good lighting as this camera does not come with a light. Otherwise it has a lot of great features for a camera of this price range. I am very happy!

Easy to use,quick charge,long battery life.
I bought this camera just to take video of my niece,I am very pleased with the quality of video and audio. But i didn't shoot for long to test the battery life but who cares for the money you spent for such a good cam corder that too from sony. I like the camcorder and very easy to handle and shoot the videos.

I purchased the camera for my wife and I to use to film our kids. They have been filmed doing everything from playing the fiddle to sledding. The video quality is wonderful for all types of their activity. The audio is lacking when the video is played back on the camera. My wife is by no means technoligically proficient, but she has taken to it well and uses it with ease. Highly recomended.

I use this not only to shoot family video, but also to record my dogs' activities. I took it to a herding clinic and the zoom was amazing - I could not have recorded without it! I've also used it to record my dogs tracking - the steadyshot really helps when you are walking and recording. I like the recording media (hdd) - it is easy to hook up to my PC and download my videos. Lightweight, fits in my hand - very handy to use for anything. Has great accessories available, too.

took this camcorder on family vacation to i recorded EVERYTHING i could in the four day span and still have tons a space on the HD. The 60x zoom is the best zoom that I have seen on camcorder. The touch sceen is very easy to use and makes navigation easy. The only bad thing was the battery. You will defineitly have to buy the extended battery as the one that comes with the camcorder ony gives you aboout 93 minutes of taping I bought the next one up the NP-FH100 and got 384 minutes. Very good camera worth every cent. And B&H has the best prices hands down, researched for over a month.

Use the product for my golf coaching. It's great to break the video into different files and easy to select which video you want.
Just one thing, it can't use as a webcam. So can't connect direct to your computer to capture pic which it will be another bonus for me. But overall, I love it
