Need a camera that can keep up with someone (you?) who's active, daring, and/or an occasional risk-taker? Then check out the Olympus Stylus Tough-6000. This is one incredibly durable digital camera; it's shock, water, freeze, and crush proof - ummm, ok - resistant. Don't go driving your Hummer over it, or tossing it into liquid nitrogen. It's not quite that rugged but it sure can take a lickin' and keep on tickin'. Drop it, splash it, toss it - then pick it up and take a photo or make a movie. The Tough-6000 is ready, willing, and able to capture all those future memories and help you share them with friends and family. For sportsters indulging in the wintery and aquatic types of activities - listen-up -Tap Control is about to change your life. Playback, shadow adjustments, and flash mode can all be activated by simply tapping (tapping is not smashing) the top, sides, or back of the camera. No need to pull off the gloves, or fumble for a button - just bop it!
Shooting vistas or portraits? The Tough-6000 lets your creativity become a photographic reality. Your vision and intuition can finally come to fruition; whether it's a breathtaking scenic, or an intimate close-up. For those on-the-go shots we have two flavors of image stabilization: optical and digital. Use one or the other or both at the same time to keep those otherwise blurry photos sharp and clear.

I purchased this camera for pictures I wanted to take on whitewater rafting trips and on our boat at our house on a South Carolina lake. Image quality is better than I would expect from such a small lens, and the JPEGs are nicely saturated and crisp. Movies taken at the highest quality (still standard definition) look very good, but can be pretty shaky without bracing the camera against something solid or using a monopod / tripod. Shutter lag can be annoying when trying to capture something that won't hold a pose, but most point-and-shoots in this range share that trait. Battery life is very good. A 2GB xD memory card holds 410 photos at highest quality or 44 minutes of HQ video.

Bought this camera for its durability and the waterproof. I needed a point and shoot that was easy for on the go, casual shots. Outdoor shots are superior. Does not perform the best in low light situations.. But then again, this is a point and shoot.
Love that it has video capabilities.

Well for one thing I don't have to worry about caring for it like a baby like my previous cameras. I love the various amounts of scene selections and the picture quality is pretty nice also. However maybe I'm not that used to it since I only purchased it last month, because I would still rather go with a canon. But this is great too, no complaints.

One of my favorite features about this camera is that I can take photos under water!! There are four different under water camera settings including a macro setting for close-up. Can be used in the ocean (but just have to read-up on how to clean it.) The photos are very clear and it's safe to use. The other settings are amazing and I would definitely recommend it to anyone!!

The camera does have a slow lag time in certain settings. But if you play with the settings it will work great. I have not submerged the camera at this point but love the idea that it would be a possibility. Overall we are very happy with this camera.

Me, my sister, my brother, his fiance, and my Dad's girlfriend all chipped in to get this camera for my Dad for Christmas and he loves it! It is the perfect camera for him, as he is an extreme outdoors-man so he loves it! The tap control helps him when snowmobiling. It's got a sleek design, and its versatile.

I use my camera for snapshots around town. My transportation is bike and I'm generally very active and I can rest assured that throwing my bag on the ground won't destroy my camera. The pictures are great, lots of features, a little lag on the shutter button as with most digicams, holding the finger down first gives more control of timing. rarely blurs even when I have the flash off.. I like it.
