I purchased this camera for my mother-in-law. She was still using disposable cameras and needed to upgrade to digital. She is happy with the compact size and large screen. Since it has a plastic case and a large screen, I would highly recommend purchasing a small camera bag and rechargeable AA batteries. The features are limited and the menu system takes a bit getting use to (still easier than Cannon). For those looking for a inexpensive point and shoot camera, the Olympus FE-45 is a good value.
