The PSR-E223 from Yamaha offers great playability and sound quality in a compact, portable design. Equipped with 61 standard-sized keys, the PSR-E223 is a great keyboard for new musicians, thanks to several built-in teaching tools that let you learn how to play quickly and easily. Yamaha's powerful AWM tone generator provides you with hundreds of realistic instruments, including a stereo-sampled grand piano, organs, strings, brass, and more. Drum kits and sound effects are also included, as well as 100 different accompaniment styles.
Built-in stereo speakers, each with a dedicated amplifier, provide great audio quality so you can give your first concert right away. A headphone jack allows private practicing sessions, and the pedal input lets you connect a damper pedal for more realistic expression. MIDI input and output connectors make it easy to connect to your Mac or PC to record and edit your music.
The PSR-E223 runs on six AA batteries, or with a separately available PA-130 power adapter. You can also get the Yamaha Survival Kit B, which includes the PA-130 adapter, stereo headphones, a foot switch, a Survival Kit DVD-ROM, bonus coupons, and a two year extended warranty for the PSR-E223.

Comments about PSR-E223 - 61-Key Portable Keyboard with Yamaha Education Suite:
My 12 yo son loves it. Easy to use but then again kids don't have the same problems we do with electronics do they. No problems so far, only slight weakness is that it does not have pressure sensitive keys but what do you expect at this price point. Certainly worth the money...

Comments about PSR-E223 - 61-Key Portable Keyboard with Yamaha Education Suite:
As a college student learning the basics, this keyboard was a great buy. It features 375 different voice settings, giving a nice range of instruments to play in. The Grand Piano setting sounds very nice for a portable keyboard. The keys are... well, they are plastic keyboard keys. That being said, the keys feel absolutely fine and are easy to play. The rest of the interface is fine and easy to use, but the rubber buttons feel a bit cheap. They get the job done, so there is not really a problem. The only problem was that the number pad's numbers are hard to see, so anyone used to the number setup on a cell phone is going to enter codes wrong occasionally. The overall construction feels solid, but is still very light. Midi in/out feature is nice as well. The headphone jack is 1/4" (6.3mm), so an inexpensive converter will be needed for most personal headphones, which are 1/2" (3.5mm). This is a great keyboard for under[$] It was cheaper through B&H than other retail stores I researched, [...] The only downside is that the board does not come with an A/C adapter.

Comments about PSR-E223 - 61-Key Portable Keyboard with Yamaha Education Suite:
Good beginner keyboard. But the 102 internal songs that come with the keyboard to help you learn, probably won't help you to actually learn them unless you have a pretty good idea of how to play the song already. The notes and keys go by way too fast on the display, and I haven't found a way to slow it down. The keys are not "dynamic" so there is no difference in volume depending on how hard or soft you push the keys. The sound is good and it is nice to hear the keyboard play the internal songs on its own. [...]Overall, good beginner keyboard at a good bundle price. The best price for a bundle of this size anywhere I could find.Recommended

Comments about PSR-E223 - 61-Key Portable Keyboard with Yamaha Education Suite:
This keyboard is good for the price, although I bought it specifically for the "Yamaha sound" which, in this model, sounds too metallic. I assume this is because it is a low-end model. It has a lot of features that most keyboards have with demos and everything that I never use. I would suggest that Yamaha or B&H offer a really nice sounding keyboard for the same price without all the bells and whistles this one includes.
