The Sony Cyber-shot W230 contains a variety of neat technologies in a sleek, brushed-aluminum package. Designed around a 12.1 megapixel (1/2.3") Super HAD CCD sensor, the W230 features a Carl Zeiss-designed 4x (5.35-21.4 mm) power zoom that covers the equivalent field-of-view of a 30 - 120 mm lens. Despite its compact size, the W230 can capture up to 100 continuous exposures at speeds up to 1.8fps thanks in part to its Sony BIONZ image processor. Along with vibrant still images, the W230 can also capture vivid video clips.
For easy composing, viewing and editing your still and video imagery, the Cyber-shot W230 features a 3" 230,400-dot Photo Clear LCD. For capturing stills, the W230 offers an immense selection of exposure and scene mode selections including an Easy Shooting Mode for those wishing to keep things nice and simple. There are also in-camera retouching tools available for enhancing your pictures post-capture.
Still images can be captured at 8 levels of JPEG compression and video with sound (mono) at 3 levels of image compression to best fit your needs. To further enhance your pictures, the Cyber-shot W230 has a PHOTOMUSIC feature, which combines music and a selection of visual effects into your still image slideshows and video clips.
For admiring your pictures on a grander scale, you can output images at sizes up to and exceeding 13x19", or view them in high-definition on a Sony BRAVIA or similarly compatible HDTV using the optional VMC-MHC2 HD output adapter cable.
The Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W230 is powered by a rechargeable lithium-ion battery, which is good for about 350 images (or 175 minutes of video), and along with 15MB of internal memory records images onto Memory Stick PRO and Memory Stick DUO PRO (up to 16GB) media.

This camera is compact enough to fit in my little purse but also takes great quality photos! The LCD screen is really big on the back, and it's nice to be able to see the pictures you've just taken so clearly.
There's a little delay in between pressing the capture button and snapping the picture, which can be a little frustrating if you're in a hurry, but other than that, no complaints! I'm really happy with this camera!
The best part about this camera is that it's Carolina Blue :)

We use it for pictures we want to take when we are on the go. We recently used it on our ski trip and it worked out really nice. It is very easy to store in a pocket and when you pull it out for a picture it turns on and is ready pretty quick. We really love the screen on the camera it is big enough to see the pictures we take and it is pretty clear. very easy to navigate and not a lot to do to prepare for the shot. "point and click"!! One thing I would change if I could is for the camera to have more zoom capability. To be honest though for the size and convenience we are willing to keep it. Great little camera!

USED on vacations and gatherings. Quick, small and easy are the selling points. Great Lens and a quality Sony product. Not so hot in low light settings but its size and lens quality makeup for the loss in low light.

This is my first digital camera and I have to say that I'm so pleased with my choice! It has a nice large display, the pictures are super clear, and it had a lot of different settings that are easy to figure out even if you're not familiar with digital cameras. Not to mention that the camera itself is slim, sleek, and beautiful! I love it and will definately buy and recommend Cyber-shots in the future :)

It was time to upgrade my daughter's camera so I got her this one from B&H. The joy in her eyes was enough to confirm my purchase. She loves it and already shot hundreds of amazing pictures,
