I was really looking forward to my Line 6 UX2 recording interface as I saw it twice in different location during our recent holiday in South Africa. I decided to order it for a very good price at B&H.
Sound quality, software package and simplicity of use are very good. Unfortunately the same can not be said about build quality. It is made from a cheap plastic which to my disappointment fabrication lines and joints do not line up at all. A first thought that B&H sent me a demo model and that the box may have been dropped, so badly out of place were some of the joints. Not happy.
At least, it works well and produces some very good simulated sounds.

Comments about Line 6 POD Studio UX2 - Recording Interface:
I'm a hobbiest and just wanted something I could record ideas with in GarageBand. Garage Band actually has some pretty decent amp models built in but I wanted an interface with a 1/4" input and the ability to use a decent mic. Several great things about this interface, useable tones, almost zero latency, the ability to monitor wet and send a dry signal to your recording program.
One thing I wish this had is RCA monitor outs. The is in the hobbiest price range and I'm not really wanting to spend 500 bucks on a pair of near field monitors. An RCA monitor out would be nice to send your monitor signal to some simple computer speakers. It has 2 1/4" monitor outs, currently I just use the headphone out although it should be noted that the headphone out definitely has noticeable compression over the regular 1/4" monitor outs.
All in all this is a handy little recording interface. If you're planning to do any serious recording I'd look at a firewire interface but for the money I can't think of anything with as many features. The recording features alone are worth the cost, the amp modeling is just a happy bonus.
Build quality is so so. It's just a plastic box. I wouldn't put it through the rigors of travel but if it's just sitting on your desktop it's fine. One thing to note is that there is no external power required. This thing is entirely bus powered. I'm not sure how they managed to incorporate phantom power for the mic press but they did without the need for a wall wart. My guess is that you'll drain your battery pretty fast if you actually use the phantom power with a laptop that's not plugged in.

Just buy it. You will not regret it.
It does not come with manual. You need to download it from their site.
The only negative aspect of this product is registration process of POD Farm and device.
I had hard time connecting to their server and took a while to receive authorization. Just be patient.

I placed the order on Fri. by the following Tue. I received the package in good shape. Thumbs up for B&H.
As for the product, its a great buy. It works right out from the box. I'm still in process to learn how to use all the softwares came with UX2.
This is a complete package for anyone who wants to record their music, plus the 30 days free trial on GuitarPort Online to download tracks and jam with your favorite artist. This is beyond words can describe.
The only cons is, there is no quick start step by step guide, so you can setup and start recording and / or playing along in a short time.

I've been a long time user of Line6, from Podxt to Pod x3 live, and now the Pod Studio UX2.
The only issue I ever had with Line6 product is the USB drop out in the pod x3 live. Everything else is great.
The recording quality is good, and Line6 provide many features in the bundle software so you can control almost everything right on your computer screen. This is great.
However, just like many other people says, the plastic build makes it feel like a cheap hardward even though inside it's not.
Overall, I highly recommend this device

Excellent for the money, Line 6 guitar amp and effect emulation not the best however. Still the best recording interface at that price point IMO, you will need to upgrade if you want to take your home studio to the next level though.

I am just getting back into recording, and I was able to hook this up and get it going pretty easily. It has a lot more capability than I use it for. So far so good.
