Samson Go Mic - USB Microphone for Mac and PC Computers (Silver)

It has some capability to serve as a playback speaker, which is a feature I don't use. When first plugged in, the driver set the Go Mic as my default playback speaker, which silenced my normal PC speakers. It was confusing at first, but easy to correct in Windows through the Sound control panel.

I was looking for a good quality "travel" microphone to use with speech recognition software. The pickup and accuracy of this microphone are just fine for that purpose. However, the court is 4 feet too long and the nature of the microphone will not let it clip onto a MacBook Pro. Therefore it meets to sit on the desk to the right side of the laptop instead of at the top center of the screen. Unnecessarily heavy.

Have its big brother, the Samson G-track at home and it's serves me well, but was looking for a smaller travel-mic that isn't aweful for creating tutorials and talking to clients via skype etc.
This does the job beautifully. It's really quite small, but the metal clip makes it heavier than I thought it'd be. That being said, at least it doesn't feel like it's cheaply made, though I do worry it may scratch the finish when clipped to my Macbook Air.
But skype calls have been ultra-clear compared with the built-in iMac 27" or MBA mics and I've moved to making more and more business calls over Skype since I can easily record conversations and be hands-free with great audio quality.
Great value, results and super-easy to setup and use. Love love love ....

Great to get vocal ideas recorded quickly when working on songs, because it's right there and ready to go it gets a lot of use. The quality for the price is amazing.
The mic will clip on to a laptop screen but doesn't open wide enough for an lcd monitor. It will stand on it's on however.

Great for voice and acoustic guitar. Nice, heavyish clip to hold it in place. Immediately recognized by the OS. Mic has nice features, allowing you to adjust 360 or 180 pickup patterns. Integrated pivot allows you to angle however you need.

I've been recording covers for quite a few years now and I've tried many products, but this guy really surprised me in many ways. The Samson Go Mic came around a week ago, and first of all, this thing is small, very small. It's very easy to set up, just plug and go, worked on pretty much all platform. The mic has a built in clip that can clip on to your mic stand, and it clips on pretty much anything...The recording is very clear, just the way that you would want your recording to sound. There is a direct output from the mic itself with absolutely no delay, so you get to listen to how yourself sound like first handed. But the recorded result does not sound like what comes out from that output. An other thing is, the mic cannot handle sound that is too loud, if you want to record heavy metal, this is not the mic for you. Overall, this mic is absolutely great, especially for its low price. I know many people prefer the Snowball mic over the Go mic when it comes to USB recording, but the Go mic is much more easy to bring around to places and I personally prefer the Go mic's result than the Snowball USB mic.

I travel quite a bit and use this for both VOIP calls via Skype and for calls using Microsoft communicator. The sound is clear, the mic is brain dead easy to use and looks great too.
Dollar for dollar, it's the best bargain out there and packs up small in a provided case.
