The TapeLink USB from Alesis is a high-quality cassette player that allows you to easily archive your cassette tapes to a digital format. The player has 2 cassette decks that accept metal or CrO2 tapes and offer dynamic noise reduction circuitry for high-quality playback.

A plug-and-play USB connector lets you connect the TapeLink to your computer without installing any extra drivers. The CD-quality 16-bit/44.1kHz digital output ensures that your tapes are captured with plenty of sonic detail. RCA input and output connectors also let you connect other sound sources, speakers, or recorders to the cassette player. The player offers normal and high-speed dubbing modes, and has an LED level meter for easily monitoring volume levels. The full auto-stop feature helps to prevent older tapes from breaking.

The TapeLink USB also comes with a host of software applications for your computer. BIAS SoundSoap LE allows you to remove hiss, rumble, hum, and other unwanted noises from your recordings. Audacity editing software let you make basic edits, while the EZ Tape Converter software makes it a snap to transfer tapes to your computer.

TapeLink USB Dual Cassette Player/Archiv

By Bill

from Marietta, GA 30064

About Me AudioVideo Consultant

Verified Buyer

Pros

  • Good Sound
  • Good USB interface

Cons

  • Poor or No Instructions

Best Uses

  • PhonoTape Conversion

Comments about Alesis TapeLink USB Dual Cassette Player/Archiver:

Manual could be more explicit, especially on how to use Convert software.

Information on EZ Software Converter uses Phono-Tape Album but no instructions on how to use it, especially for Phonoe.

When entering data for Author, Album, Track information, any mistake saves the information entered and you can't go back and correct it. Makes for a mess if you miss a key.
