The Roland SS-PC1 was designed to be a sturdy laptop stand for drummers who use Roland HD-1 Electronic Drums, but musicians and producers of all stripes could find a use for this simple and well thought out computer stand.
You can adjust the height, adjust the tilt of the computer platform, and adjust the gripping brackets to hold onto a variety of different sized notebook computers. The width of the platform was designed to allow room for a mouse, or other accessories & devices.

OK, I know this is for supporting a laptop, and it is superior at doing that. The large, cushy rubber clamps hold my laptop AND the thin USB fan I use quite well... you can clamp down nice and tight. The height adjustment gets used a lot by me; It easily adjusts for sitting or standing. The tripod legs fit in tight spaces well and give the stand a nice, secure, stable feeling even at the height of travel. The SS-PC1 Support Stand for PC by Roland also makes a great stand for my Axiom 25 MIDI Controller, as you can imagine. The size is perfect for a keyboard/controller that size (25 keys).
However, I find that I am using the stand for adulterated purposes such as a TV Dinner Tray and a reading/writing stand at bedside. Not very stylish you say, but it fits my "style" , again, perfectly.

Comments about Roland SS-PC1 Support Stand for PC:
Stand is great but here is what I would add.
- A back to stop the laptop from falling from behind if tilted incorrectly.
- A more flexible tilting angle. As it is I have to lower the stand for easy access.
Overall you should buy it because it is the only thing out here like it!!!!
I give it five stars until someone else makes something better.

This is a very solid stand. Make sure you measure your laptop. I bought a laptop with a large screen and it doesn't really fit as designed. The stand difficult to tip over. I am going to drill an additional hole to accommodate the width of my laptop.

Comments about Roland SS-PC1 Support Stand for PC:
I use this to support my laptop in studio when shooting still life. I also plan to use this on video shoots but have not had the opportunity. Would give it 5 stars but the design does not allow it to collapse easily. Instead you must unbolt two bolts to separate the table top from the stand.
Watch out for quality control. I've bought three of these and returned one because the three legs would not slide up on the stand part.

So easy to put together. Sturdy, from the looks and feel of it. I bought it primarily for use in small gigs, handier than any thing I could think of, for a laptop; with the open sides granting easy access for cable connections. Might be better with wheels, on occasion, but it's a light lift, so I don't think it will present any difficulty for my needs.

Used for tethered photography. A little shakey, but for the money is fairly sturdy. Recommend weight bag for better stability. Product could be built to extend a little higher.

Comments about Roland SS-PC1 Support Stand for PC:
Having just bought a TASCAM DP-02 Portastudio, it became apparent I needed a stand for it. The tilt-and-swivel Roland SS-PC1 is a class of one in that regard. Near perfect for anyone using a laptop on stage or in a studio, it can be likewise for the TASCAM with a little mod. The well-padded holddowns slide in slots to adjust for various laptop widths, and then screw down to hold the laptop in place. Unfortunately a DP-02 is a little bigger than a laptop, so I had to drill one 1/4" hole to move the holddowns farther apart. Likewise the holddown threads are about 1/4" too short and will just barely grab the nut. Nevertheless the final product works just fine and they even tossed in a couple velcro cable ties. If it fit the DP-02 out of the box, if the rolled front lip rolled up and served as a pencil ledge, and if the top tilted a few more degrees it would get 5 Stars.
