Comments about Cineform Neo Scene for Mac & PC:
I use this to down covert AVCHD into AVI so it's usable on my high-end CGI systems. I'm a documentary producer and "How-To" DVD/Blue Ray developer. The extra features this software provides is an absolute must for AVCHD based file use (.mts). I can't imagine any product producing better results, and for the cost, this software is almost a "give-away". Just get it and you'll see what I'm talking about.

Comments about Cineform Neo Scene for Mac & PC:
I purchased this software to uncompress and convert my Canon EOS T2I raw video from H.264 format into AVI format for easier editing and higher quality results.
While my Canon T2i was on back order, I was researching editing DSLR H.264 video and format issues during post on the web. There were a lot of examples of people ending up with jittery video after post. The more I researched, it was clear the high compression of the native H.264 format used in DSLRs is difficult to work with in various non-linear editing applications. Discussion threads were indicating success using this NeoScene to convert the format from H264 to AVI prior to post.
As a result of my research I purchased NeoScene. When my camera arrived, I processed video directly from H.264 format (no conversion) and after converting it to AVI using NeoScene. Without conversion, the video had artifacts when panning sections of highly intricate patterns like roof shingles on a building. With conversion using NeoScene the artifacts were not gone and the overall video quality improved.
Since those intial tests, I use NeoScene to convert both H.264 and AVCHD to AVI prior to post and I am very pleased with the results. I highly recommend this product for AVCHD video and especially for highly compressed H.264 being used for DSLR video.
Note: NeoScene is uncompressing AVCHD and H264 while converting to AVI, so your file size can and will grow significantly from the original compressed files. You have control of the level of decompression and the higher the quality setting for your conversion the larger the converted file will be.
NeoScene will let you trial their product prior to purchase. If you are getting jittery video or artifacts from your DSLR H.264 video why not at least try it. You will not be disappointed.

Comments about Cineform Neo Scene for Mac & PC:
Neoscene is absolutely essential for editing HD 1080p MOV video from the Canon DSLR range of cameras. The MOV format is far too slow to edit on the PC but once converted to AVI using Neoscene it can even be edited using Windows Movie Maker.

Using the product with Vegas 9, a T2i, and an AVCHD camera, and no question the files are easier to edit. And when I had audio issues, their staff was great in solving the problem!
