Comments about Samsung TL320 Point-and-shoot Digital Camera (Black):
The TL320 has many unique features - it's very compact, light weight and slips into a pocket: has a brilliant high quality wide angle lens, bright LED viewer, plus you can set it as automated as you like or as manual as you like. One day point and shoot , next day fully set up interioror-exterior photos. I have been using the now extinct Canon S70 for many years- an excellent camera but heavy and bulky. The TL320 is the perfect replacement.

Comments about Samsung TL320 Point-and-shoot Digital Camera (Black):
great camera so far; excellent optics and features that others do not offer.
Best true wide angle rated at 2.8 wide open, but cannot figure if the battery gets drained when in the video mode or if Samsung plans on a stronger battery for this model!
I still love this camera though and would recommend it to anyone that is looking for a compact point-and-shoot with some great optics!

Comments about Samsung TL320 Point-and-shoot Digital Camera (Black):
Like many, I'm longing for the holy grail of a single pocketable device that's both a great still cam and video cam, handles low light with aplomb, with both intelligent auto modes and plenty of manual options when you have the time and need - and I see a lot of progress being made, but think we're still maybe a year away from something that will almost be that - within, of course, the limits of the laws of physics re: light-gathering capacity, sensor size, etc. I had to buy now, though, to meet some documentation needs, did a fair amount of research and comparison shopping, and while I feel I got something that's about as close as any manufacturer's offering today, and a good relative value, have to say it's still a few bricks short of a full load. Plenty of reviews of the photo functions of the camera are available on-line. It usually gets good to very good reviews of its versatility, design, construction, and like me, excellent ones for the AMOLED screen, which Samsung claims is the first on a consumer grade camera. So for more info about all the photo performance, just search for "TL320 reviews." One item deserves special comment though: that AMOLED screen is very visible in bright sunlight, and the colors don't change when viewing the screen even from extreme angles. Color me impressed. Overall, though, I'm going to focus more on what usually gets the once-over in reviews of combo still-oriented cameras, i.e., the video functions. Since video of spoken word and music for YouTube was #1 on my list I began by buying a mini-HD vidcam, the Aiptek Action GVS HD, which I ultimately traded in and bought the TL320 for reasons we'll get to shortly. As for my TL320, which I'm keeping, the biggest minus is the lack of anything resembling decent sound recording in video. People don't always realize how important the sound track to the overall experience of video and movies. Studies show it to be at least as important as the video images themselves. While the video quality is comparable and the stills incomparably better than the mini-vidcam I tried first, the inadequate mono mic, not even front-facing, is really inadequate. I would have to say that for my primary use, recording live unamplified or semi-amplified performances and speakers in often dimly-lit rooms, about half of the footage I'm getting is unacceptable, mostly because of poor sound. Further, the camera's speaker is very low volume - so combine that with the noisy low gain sound and you can barely use the camera to preview your vids that weren't recorded under optimal sound conditions. I totally feel the mic and sound recording capability (and/or adding an external mic input) could have been upgraded significantly for probably no more than $10-20 in build cost. But neither camera manufacturers (or any of the review sites I've found) even pay much - if any - attention to the sound quality of the video in their still cams. C'mon Samsung, Canon, Nikon, Panasonic, Sony, etc., etc. if you're going to bother to give us beautiful HD video, a little decent audio is only logical and sane!! Also, my little vidcam did zoom without shutting down the sound, and I don't think its motor was any quieter than my TL320's. So again, on the wish list, unmute the sound while zooming, and while you're at it give us a choice of at least 2 or 3 zoom speeds to give more creative control of the video process (which was lacking in the ultracompact vidcam as well, FWIW). Back to sound, the Aiptek, at half the price, had a stereo mic with maybe 20 db more gain and therefore a better noise/signal ratio, and had a mic input. On the other hand, its widest lens angle made me place it much further away to get the frame I wanted, mostly negating the better audio gain and quick shooting makes setting up an external mic impractical much of the time. PS: neither camera does video well in low light, even with a compact LED video light at distances of more than 4-6 feet. But probably in line with the competition. The 24mm equivalent wide-angle capability on the Samsung (24-120), btw, is really, really sweet and well-implemented. Another thing most amateur photographers don't usually realize is the visual impact of the inherently greater depth of field and dimensionalilty of WA shooting and are more impressed by being able to zoom in on distant scenes and objects, even though the shots flatten out and moosh fore and background details together in a way that's usually visually boring. A 24mm POV lets you close in on a foreground subject which can then lead your deeper and deeper into the picture. And no P&S (or even DSLR) camera is going to truly capture the majesty of mountains 20 miles away in the first place. Go for a detail or person close to you and let the landmarks in the distance add a sense of place. Telephoto capability (say above 135mm equivalent) is better suited for skittish wildlife, capturing sports and family play action and drama - or any DETAIL you can't get close to, but not so much for scenery or people pix in general. You also gain light the more zoomed out you are and can therefore shoot at a lower ISO. By the way, P&S cameras are also not known for having small f-stops (stopping down of the lens blades during exposure) - there is no f16 or f22 to be had as in DSLR's - so wide angle is the only way to get much depth of field in ultracompact camera photographs. There's more to be said about this complicated little machine, however my purpose in chiming is mainly to bring some focus on the totally neglected, truly and unnecessarily atrocious state of sound recording in small cameras (vidcams and still with video, but especially the latter) in general, and hope manufacturers will begin to pay some attention too! Meanwhile, if you need reasonably good sound with a tiny video recording device and detailed stills are less of a priority, the vidcams are still your best bets. Still, if someone brought out a camera like the TL320 but with a better stereo mic, a mic input and a better speaker PLUS the really nice pics this takes, for me at least, that would be game over for small vidcams and remove the last real practical reason to have to own both still-oriented and a video-oriented small cams.

This camera is awesome! For a ompact camera, this is five stars.
Has every feature & option anyone could ask for in a compact camera. The quality is phenomenal and the 3" screen rivals most high-end computer monitors or televisions. It takes some effort to truly learn all the features this little camera has to offer, but well worth your time to learn.
For easy & light traveling, this camera is all that you need. Video option is unparalleled in a digital camera.
PROS: Excellent quality, wide range of manual features, extensive video recording w/voice, price.
CONS: Takes a little bit of effort to fully learn the capabilities.

I usually shot at night w/o using flash. This TL320 makes too much noise on any dark area. I should go back to Canon G10.

I just like taking pictures for fun and I needed a small compact camera. This Samsung TL320 is definitely what I've been looking for. I love the AMOLED screen, great viewing angles even in sunlight.
Picture qualities are excellent and the camera has a good build and feel to it. The only thing that bothers me is you can only record videos for 20 minutes and than it stops and you have to press record again. But I didn't buy this camera for it's video capabilities. I love this camera and highly recommend it!

Pocektable camera. Or you can buy a belt pouch. Pictures are average. Use of video even for a minute will reduce bar indicator by one bar. Even with analogue dial, SDHC card and battery indicator show in the LCD so you do not have to guess memory and battery life. Zoom TOGGLE is a bit unusual. Battery has to be charged in camera. No separate charger included.
