The Internet has changed the retail environment forever. The world of online sales has exploded, eliminating tedious print ads and phone calls and offering the average person the opportunity to become a sell-it-yourself, start-up business. The MyStudio® line of Tabletop Photo Studios for Product Photography wants to help.
Until now the weak link has been the photography. It's been proven time and again that better photos equal more sales, and to complete the equation, higher selling prices. Quality images, especially those depicting open shadows and precise detail, add to the "perceived value" of your item, assuring the prospective buyer that he's choosing a well cared-for product.
Enter MyStudio® with a great line of mini-cycloramas that include lighting. Wrinkled seamless paper and time-intensive, post-production retouching are things of the past. Instead, your product seems to float in infinity on a clean, white piece of durable, washable ABS plastic. The overhead light source is a color-balanced, digital-friendly 5000K fluorescent fixture on an adjustable stand, which wraps light around your objects and can be further directed with the supplied bounce cards.
Made in several sizes from 20 to 64 inches in width, MyStudio® solves the field-of-view problems evident in photo tents when the edges of the background appear in your image. Whether you're shooting coins, jewelry, cosmetics, objects d'art, electronics, car parts or handbags, there's a MyStudio® Tabletop Cyc Kit to fit your needs.
The MyStudio® 32 offers an expanded 90 degree corner module. It measures 32 x 32 x 16" (81 x 81 x 40.6 cm). The 16" height provides additional headroom for taller objects. The system is supplied with two 92 CRI, 5000K, daylight-balanced lamp-bulb combos.

I have to give the MyStudio MS32 five stars because it has saved me SO much time in the studio with product shots. I almost don't want to show it to my clients because I don't want them to know my secret! Setup for me was a bit tricky but once I got it together it's great. It is true that the lights are not very powerful, but as long as you don't have other lights bleeding in (which you shouldn't anyway) it takes just a minute to dial in the correct exposure and then it's as easy as 1, 2, 3 to put the item in the studio, compose the shot, take the photo. Because of the white background you will want to shoot in Manual mode or your camera will most likely underexpose the image because it will think that all the white is actually light. Or if you are shooting in aperture priority or shutter priority adjust your exposure compensation to at least +1, but manual will give you the most control. The white miniature cyc is fabulous to have. Much better than seamless paper or fabric and it is easy to clean if it gets dirty.

Although it's very easy to take a pretty decent picture with the MyStudio, unfortunately it's lighting system and overall setup I'd say are below par. I purchased this to primarily take pictures of wine bottles and other glass objects... not a great setup for what I wanted. After some decent pictures, and a few hour in Photoshop you'd never know though.
Overall I give this product a 3/5 due to it delivering what it promisses, but with materials and quality inferior to what was expected.

Bought this kit to do product shots of my wife's pottery for a catalog. If this kit were only the one piece, white base/background, I would give it 5 stars.
The lights are very poor quality. Broke both lenses trying to remove them from the fixtures, sueezing them at the tabs per directions. The frame for the lights/reflectors is also very flimsy and light wieght.
I wound up using a Photoflex MultiDome on a boom and lightstand.

After a bit of a hassle setting up the MS32 (the hardest part is the light stand, I would recommend having someone on hand to help) I was able to put it to immediate good use in my studio. Previously whenever I needed to photography an item on a white background I would break out the white seamless and a couple of strobes. With the MS32, as long as the item fits inside, that is no longer necessary. I've had it for about a month and I'll bet I have saved 10 hours at least. The photos come out great and the only things I do in post is crop and adjust brightness and contrast and voila, great product photos! It's almost too easy.

If I move the light and hood stand even a quarter of an inch the lights pop out of their sockets and I must remove the plastic shielding to re-install the bulbs. What a hassle.
Plus I am thinking this is new-old stock as the light covers a brittle. As though they are more than 5 years old(thats how they came to me in the box.
I should have purchased the smaller mystudio20 :(

Comments about MyStudio MS32 Tabletop Photo Studio Kit with 5000K Lighting:
I used this product to shoot photos of a very expensive computer board (5 digits) and it performed very well, has a great cost value and is somewhat portable. It does have some design flaws that while don't hinder its use makes for less durable set up.
I sets up easy, instructions could be better written, but was able to get it all together rather easily. Here is one flaw, the bolts and nuts used to secure the light fixtures to the stand need to be thicker and there should be a washer included to sit under the wing nut in the back. When you connect the light reflectors to the back of the light fixtures the long term durability could be called into question because the reflectors are only secured by two narrow screws and wing nuts, I can see easy cracking on the reflectors because all the pressure is put onto those bolts. An easy fix is to use washers I purchased at a home improvement store.
The bounce cards are ok, but cardboard and can easily become damaged if not careful.
Overall a good purchase, but the design could use a bit more thought.

I had purchased the MyStudio MS20 and found I used it so much that I also purchased the MS32 so I could take photos of larger items as well. For me the cyclorama design with the corner is pure genius and lets me shoot from different angles without worrying about the seams. There have been a few times where I wished it was taller, but after calling the company they recommended turning the background on its side for taller items. I tried that and after adjusting the light stand a bit it actually worked just fine. My photos are great and my clients are happy. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this to someone.

Used it for product shots for a major corporation. Unfortunately, I had to take it to the client's location. It doesn't travel well, but in fairness, I don't think it's designed to.
It's a pain to assemble and some of the screws were missing from the package. I had to go to the local hardware store to buy my own.
But once it finally went to work, it was great to use. The shoot went quickly and smoothly and the photos turned out great. It's a neat little set up.
The only negative for me is my lack of storage space. So I had to take it apart and put it back in the box until I use it again...but that's my problem.

I have used it recently to take photos of jarred and fresh foods.
Does exactly what it says it will at a reasonable cost. Can be a tad wobbly without attaching it to a table.
Putting it together isn't fun...you could mess it up if you arent careful!
I'd say it is very good overall.

We use the MS32 for simple product photos for website, brochure, and manuals. The product works well for this purpose.
Nice way to get even lighting and seamless background. While it works well, the whole thing does feel just a little bit "flimsy". However, I would recommend it based on my experience so far.

Used this for some product shots. Takes great images. Takes up some space when not in use, maybe I should have considered the smaller version MS20.

Once we set up the studio, it was very easy to use. We are very satisfied with the results. The setup instructions were somewhat incomplete. A video is included that helped more than the paper instructions. Only complaint is the instructions for assembly. Everything else worked great.

Overall the Tabletop Studio does its job. I would of liked it a bit taller, about 4" more. The frame work holding the lights and top reflectors are flimsy and you have to be gentle with it. The infinity background is great and the lighting is ok.

Comments about MyStudio MS32 Tabletop Photo Studio Kit with 5000K Lighting:
First, the good part...the plastic formed backround is fabulous. You don't have to fool around with flimsy seamless. It cleans beautifully and works for almost any tabletop object. I would prefer that the back be higher to accomedate larger obects but you can turn the whole thing on its side to accomplish the same effect.
The bad...the lights aren't really strong enough by themselves to light an object. You really need extra backround lights. Also, the light covers are too delicate and the tabs break off easily...so be careful putting the bulbs in.
I am happy with MYSTUDIO over all because it does create a very good tabletop area. I think it is a very good product for the price.

Bought this for a couple specific projects and have ended up using it much more. It makes taking product shots ridiculously easy. The lights aren't very strong but are accurate, so plan on slower shutter speeds. Once you have your exposure dialed in everything else just falls into place. The Mystudio works far better than any of the light tents I've tried for the same purpose. Worth the money.

Comments about MyStudio MS32 Tabletop Photo Studio Kit with 5000K Lighting:
I have tried a couple of different photo tents and fabric cubes in the past but was never satisfied with the results and ended up spending too much time in Photoshop tweaking the final images. On the recommendation of a friend I bought the MyStudio 32 and have been very pleased with the results. Setup was not the easiest (about 15 minutes once I figured it out) but since it has been up I have used it repeatedly with consistently great results. The light output is accurate but not extremely bright, so expect longer exposure times and definitely use a tripod, but the results are superb, even with my point and shoots. Definitely makes shooting smaller items a breeze. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this product.
