I used this with the HDR-CX550V and it's as tight a fit as I could imagine. The case rim is a bit too soft because it's a bit tough to stuff the camera back in one handed especially if the hand strap on the camera is adjusted large for gloves. Also it won't close with the extra large FV-100 battery. Probably won't protect against much of a fall. I added a carabiner for a quick belt connection. I put the case in a large chest pocket on my snowboarding jacket while I filming my athletes.
