I guess my expectations were too high (although it does cost $250-300 depending on where you buy it!). I tried projecting on a wall roughly 4 ft away and the image was quite blurry- image quality resembled that of a YouTube video where the person uses a camcorder to film something playing on the television.
The unit also got quite hot very quickly, which made me nervous about overheating. Lastly, the battery life is not very long - I with that you could still use the projector while plugged into the charger/adapter (i.e. run it wired vs wireless).
I'm looking for a relatively inexpensive and certainly space-saving alternative to flat screen TV/display for television and movie watching in my bedroom. This item will not be it.

I carry it around, on the odd chance I might want to project something from my phone. Honestly this is the most exciting new discovery for this video artist. better than the iphone!

Comments about Optoma Technology PK-101 Pico Pocket Projector:
Excellent versatility, convenience, and value. Keeping in mind the size and the purpose the PK-101 is intended to serve, the picture quality, color, the brightness at the largest size of projection are excellent. To those who want to use PK-101 to project from a VGA source (such as your laptop), buy a small VGA-to-RCA converter (I found one new for [$]) and the connection works like a charm. Runs hot if you run from the battery (two batteries provided), but much cooler if you run it with the USB power supply. 20,000 hours on the lamp, convenience and quality, this is truly an excellent product. We watch movies with this thing!

It is well designed and nicely made for the price. Clear image even though dim, easy to carry and setup for business presentation in a dark room with a small group of people. The only drawback is that I have to find a cable adapter to connect the VGA output of my laptop to RCA connectors provided.

I use this projector for my game console and with my ipod when I go camping.
I have owned it now for almost a week and I am absolutly amazed at the performance from this tinny projector.
I have done a few battery tests and I have found that on the standard setting withount the projectors built in speaker, it will run for 1 hour 45 minutes.
With the speaker and the projector on max brightness, it got just under an hour of life.
over all this in a great little gadget.

So this mini projector seems to be a good investment, if you want a mini projection field. Good news is that it is supposed to connect to ITouch devices, etc. Although it didn't work for me initially. It did work well with DVD type devices and looked great for such a small device and such a little projection unit!
I think I recommend it as a small projection screening device all in all!

Comments about Optoma Technology PK-101 Pico Pocket Projector:
This little projector is perfect for projecting images (4:3 format) onto any surface. Image brightness depends on size of image and area lighting.
I use this to project internet video from my HTC Tilt 2 phone, as well as photos taken during the day for family events. Battery life is great (2 hours) before having to plug in the device to USB.
Running off the laptop I never have to worry about the battery. Continuous projection of my laptop for the whole day (just for fun).
Unit comes with 2 batteries (for quick swap). Battery life is extended to 3 hours when using the low power setting, but the image is much dimmer (I always use the high power setting).

Comments about Optoma Technology PK-101 Pico Pocket Projector:
I really loved this unit and was amazed at it's size, weight and that it could run for over an hour on a rechargable battery. Also, that it comes with an ipod connector made it all the more useful. Unfortunately we tried to watch a movie on it, and the picture was so dim, we just didn't bother. Great for a handy way to show images at a business meeting, but falls far short of replacing your TV.

Comments about Optoma Technology PK-101 Pico Pocket Projector:
This product is nothing but class. Setup for 10-12 foot (diagonal) screen in dim room and achieved impressive results. Focus works well, but you have to use a delicate touch to get it just right for that projected screen size and distance. Two batteries included along with ipod cable. Only thing that would make it better is including a VGA to RCA adapter and an S-video to RCA adapter.

Comments about Optoma Technology PK-101 Pico Pocket Projector:
Great projector when having to present to small room audience. For video and photo projection it meets is goal. Battery life is shorter than 90 minutes, but it is sufficient for my job.
I would like to have available adapter for laptops (PC & Mac) as part of the package.
