Comments about Behringer B215XL - 1000W 2-Way Passive PA Speaker with 15" Woofer and 1.75" Driver (Titanium):
At 96db they are what they are, solid lil' tumpers. They've replaced an older 15 inch wood cabinet set that had a slightly higher db rating but those old wooden beasts were just a nightmare to carry. The plastic molded cabinet of the B215XL is much lighter, and it still sounds pretty sweet even though its a plastic cabinet. The lows arn't that great but the mids and highs are quite nice. I use these B215XL Speakers as added fill in reinforcement for a larger set of powered speakers of another brand. I run them at their optimum sweet spot instead of driving the heck out of them as I do my work horse speakers. In this capacity they work quite nicely. I'm not sure I'd want to rely on them as my sole speaker set without a subwoofer. Nor do I think cranking them to the limit is very wise either. However, being protected by my compressor/limiter and my feedback detector I'm sure I could pump them up a bit more, but in the end they're only 96db at 250 watts continuous. That's not a lot of go-go juice in a big club. You'd do better going to bigger thumpers, but as additional fill they seem to work quite nicely. I'm tend to stack speakers when storing them. Be careful with this set. They're a little front heavy and tend to fall forward when stacking two high. So I simply turn them to face the storage wall and they tend to lean against the wall. Remember that fact if you're stacking speakers on stage. Not a good idea with this set, its better to use tripods, especially if there's a crowd near the speakers.Other than that, they met my expectations. Know what you're buying and look at the specs. For my purposes they sound sweet, they're pretty cheap and quite light to hual around[...]
