The Intova SP8 Sport Digital Camera is incredibly durable, combining rugged body construction with shock-absorbing materials and waterproof seals, making it the pocket camera of choice for divers, surfers, skiers, and all sorts of adventure seekers who wish to document their experiences in pictures and video. The rugged body and shock-absorbing construction are designed to withstand a three-foot fall or other impact, while the innovative waterproof seals and gaskets allow you to take underwater movies and pictures as deep as 30' (9.14m). Of course it is also ideal for taking worry-free pictures in the rain, or at the beach.

The camera incorporates a high quality 3x optical zoom lens and a capture resolution of 8 megapixels to provide beautiful images. Plus it is loaded with features to make shooting easy and fun. A selection of shooting modes built into the camera cover many common shooting situations including portraits, sports, night, landscapes, and underwater modes. Users are therefore ready to take perfect shots with a minimum of fuss and effort.

Other unique features include Face Detection which tracks faces and automatically focuses and optimizes exposure for sharp, brilliant portrait pictures. It also has Digital anti-shake that captures sharp blur-free images. Comments about Intova SP8 Sport Digital Camera:

I took the Intova SP8 on 4 or 5 snorkeling trips where my swimming depth was always less than 10' At first I was very happy with this versatile all weather/waterproof camera BUT on my last trip to Maui the camera leaked just as I was leaving the ocean. A very small, normal sized waved splashed against the camera, but that was enough to force water inside which immediately "fried" my so called waterproof camera ... and yes, it was securely sealed. I spoke to several professional photographers and they said to never, ever take a camera into the ocean unless it has additional waterproof casing. This was a costly lesson to learn! If you buy this camera make sure you buy a case for it. Seawater is more dense than fresh and the depths for waterproof cameras are always based on fresh water! My other complaint concerns the image stabilization. Although it works well enough, it should also be the default setting for underwater photography. It's annoying to have to cycle through so many photo settings ... especially if you haven't used the camera in awhile.
