This product is great for the price. It is easy to use and compact enough to fit in a purse (it's not much bigger than a cell phone). My 8 year old figured out how to use it within minutes of charging it and hasn't stopped using it since getting it.

This dual camera is the best! I take it to my kids sporting events and can zoom in to get a great pictures - zoom out to get the whole play! It's a blast!! Having both a great camera and video in one is a huge plus! Both work as well or better than my individual camera and camcorder. I love it!! And the pink is a great color!

This product is very helpful in trip, family gathering and other occasion. However, Its not so good in low light. Its HD vedio i must say awesome, much much more than I expected. 10MP camera is also too good.

I love this little camera. I wanted a video camera easy to carry and simple to use, this fits the bill. I use it at my kids little league games and school functions. It's got plenty of settings, to satisfy beginners and more experienced videographers!

Bought this for [$] and it is a great camera for this price. I use it in the non HD mode and get a good amount of time on 2 or 4 gig SD cards. The stabalizer works very well and you don't get that sickening jerkiness that can happen with small lightweight cameras (like when children use it). The battery is consumed fairly quickly, so I recommend charging after each days use to keep on top of it. A spare battery would be useful. Still images taken during recording are not high quality - maybe I need different settings? Stand alone stills are very good.

Bought this for my 13 year old daughter. Great buy for a first camcorder. Takes unbelievable still images. Easy to use, voice directions. Remember to buy at least a. 4 gig sd card. In my opinion a wonderful buy at this price. You get a lot for a little price. If your looking for a dual for your teen, this is your item.

I bought this camera for a trip to California, used it for mostly video and some pictures. The quality of video is much better than I expected, pictures are pretty good too.

I got this to take pictures and video of my new Granddaughter, and it did not dissapoint! It is pretty easy to use, although the instructions can make it seem harder than it is(but that's true with most electronics). I really like that you can add as much, or as little memory as you want.I can't think of anything that I don't like about it, but I have not used all of the many features yet. I would definately recommend this camera, and B&H! (The price was 20.00 less than anywhere else that I found,[...]

I will be using this device to record a wedding. So far, I have had no trouble using this device. An instruction manual comes with this camcorder, so you need to read the whole thing. On page 106, you are warned about editing video clips. While editing video clips, do not press the REC/PLAY button. You will delete your clips! While editing, you must use the toggle and set button to navigate. You should know that there is no SD/SDHC card included, so be sure to buy one; I bought a 8gb sdhc class 6 card.

I needed something that is portable and I can pack everyday. The size, simplicity and quality of the video has won me over. The video capacity on a 16gb stick (not included) is well over 3 hours. The still pics are more than sufficient for most uses. The battery life could be longer.

I purchased this camcorder/camera as a birthday gift for my 9 year old granddaughter so that she could tap into her creative side. She opened the box charged the battery and hit the ground running and has never looked back. Great image quality, easy to use and she loves it.

I use this camera for sporting events, recording lectures and general recreation use. The camera is user friendly, compact and very light. It fits easily into a shirt pocket. I rigged a lanyard and hang it around my neck. Videos and stills are good quality and easy to shoot. Camera controls are easily accessible while shooting. Computer download is straightforward. Would have liked to see a built in lens cover, an actual lanyard ring and through the lens viewing option. Still, for the money it was a good value.

I've bought it for my wife just to make day-to-day video of children. Camera is quite easy in use. Two buttons - one for photo and another for video - easiest way to start. Very nice video quality. Useful zoom capability. 8GB card is more than enough.

Some problems also discovered:
- bag in a suggested kit is slightly smaller than camera
- even with two batteries you will not be able to fit a memory
- camera doesn't working with closed screen

This is an inexpensive camera, so please keep in mind my rating reflects what I got for my money.I compared a lot of cameras under $200 and settled on the Flip Ultra HD. However, the one I ordered showed up broken and they couldn't get us a new one in time for Christmas, so I went with the Xacti as my second choice. Boy, am I glad!!The Xacti is much easier to hold and operate the controls. Also, I use my left hand to hold the flip screen, creating a steadier shot. Controls are all easy to reach and use. I especially like being able to program the four-way toggle for four different shortcuts. I really like the flip screen: it's much bigger than cameras by Flip and others and gives a really clear picture. I also like that it can be stowed away for protection whereas the Flip and others always leave the screen exposed to smudges, scratches, cracks, etc. This camera has 5x optical zoom which means the lens actually moves to zoom in without losing image quality; the Flip Ultra and most other cameras in this price range do NOT have an optical zoom capability at all. You can use the zoom for still images and while recording video.Pictures are detailed, crisp, and have good color and balance. The camera has a macro setting which is useful for close-ups of flowers and such. I was especially surprised to see how powerful the flash is! Even though it is very small, it's extremely bright for such a small camera. The only downside is the flash is located right next to the lens so red-eye can be a problem but most software programs remove it easily.Video is great quality. HD files can be pretty big so it takes a while to upload even a short video to Facebook or YouTube. However, we reduce the quality when shooting something we know is just for a quick upload and then increase the quality if we think it's a video we might want to keep.With pictures and video, the image quality suffers in low-light situations. For example, we shot some video in our living room at night while opening presents. We had one lamp and the Christmas tree lights. The video was a little grainy, but still useful particularly for uploading to the internet. As with any camera, light is important and this camera performs best when in bright light or outdoors.The camera has a LOT of settings to help you customize images or video. The user manual is over 100 pages long and very detailed. For comparison, the Flip Ultra HD has only a couple settings and no manual! The menus are easy to navigate and you can even put them in "simple" mode which reduces your choices to the most common and makes it easier for people that don't care about all the extras.The Flip Ultra HD, and other cameras, have built-in software for connecting to a computer and uploading to [...], [...], etc. The Sanyo doesn't come with software, but you can download it free from the web site. It's still very easy to share video! Copy the video to your computer, go to [...] and click on "upload video" and then choose the video. That's it! The software from Flip saves you a couple steps and maybe a minute of time. Big deal!The battery lasted over an hour the first night we used it. You can buy two extra batteries on auction sites for around ten bucks if you feel the need for spares.All in all, I'm very happy with this purchase. The camera comes packed with so many features and extras that others don't even come close to matching it. My recommendation is that you do some research on the internet, then go to the store and play around with your top choices and see which one fits you best.

Very intuitive to use. i bought this for my 10 year old, and she took right to it. the controls are obvious and easy to use

i also like the feature that lets you take a still photo while in the middle of shooting a video.

The one caution is that you ABSOLUTELY need an SD card (at least 4GB) - you can't rely on the tiny internal memory...
