I bought this tripod to use with a Canon 7D fitted out for cinema-style video. It's a lot more expensive than some of the other options, but it's definitely worth it. We used Sachtlers mostly in film school, and I got spoiled. Still, when it came time to buy, I was tempted to get something cheaper (I won't mention any names...) but I am so glad I didn't.
Here is what I like about it. The head is easy to level, the legs have enough weight to drop when you release them, and you only have one set of locks to worry about on each leg. Also, the action of the fluidhead is smooth and consistent and easily adjustable. The carbon fiber is light and more durable than aluminum. You pull this tripod out of its bag and people know you're not messing around. And you're not. You won't waste any time trying to level the three legs or get steady footing or redoing pans or tilts or any of that other nonsense. Just smooth working. That's what I like.
Here's what I don't like. It's expensive. But I'm over it.

I've been a fan of Sachtler tripods for 25 years. Unfortunately, I got a dud when I ordered this tripod. One of the leg clamps wouldn't close completely, causing me to doubt its stability and its reliability. Trying to avoid lost time, I asked B&H if there were a way for me to fix the clamp without returning it or sending it off to a service center; B&H responded with a few suggestions. I appreciated their helpfulness but nothing worked. Rather than perching an expensive camera atop this platform and hoping for the best, I sent the tripod back. B&H accepted the return without issue. Though Sachtler's tripod had a manufacturing defect, B&H's customer service was flawless.

Great head, great build, sticks are great! I thought of buying the aluminum legs, but decided to spend the extra money and am very very happy! Everything you could possibly need in a tripod. Not too bulky, not too heavy. Super solid.

I own a Panasonic HPX 170. I had a very inexpensive tripod that limited my ability to pan and tilt with any accuracy. The Sachtler system is a God send. For a light camera it has plenty of drag and stability in the FSB-4 head. The range of adjustments and drag really make moving smooth and easy. The quick release legs, one release for each two sections of leg, is perfect and quick. The soft case adds travel protection and allows a little extra room for the stuff you know you need but will not fit in your camera box. I have only had this system for a few weeks but can not think of moving forward without it. I also know I will be using this rig for years to come. Plus the BuyitNow option allows me 6 months same as cash if I pay in full in that time period. It was a no brainer.

Comments about Sachtler 0375 FSB-4 Carbon Fiber Tripod System:
I bought this tripod system after using a 501HDV head for years. I am currently shooting on 5D / 60D although I occasionally use an EX3, for field documentary work in extreme temperature conditions. I did a lot of research and landed on this model, and am glad I did.
The FSB4 head is a delight to use. This head is smooth and easy to use and is miles ahead of the Manfrotto models.
These sticks are also a pleasure-- they deploy with the flick of a single lever, making them one of the fastest models I've used. I got sick of turning multiple levers per leg, especially when jumping in and out of a car and trying to capture fast-moving aircraft. This model allows me to quickly extend the legs, as they are heavy enough to drop down by themselves when the levers are opened. I believe this model of sticks beats the pricier models that rely on turn-cranks for each leg segment.
I've withheld one star, because there are more plastic parts than I would expect for an item this expensive. Also, the first one that I got had to be returned, because the level bubble had dried out.
Otherwise I am very happy with this purchase. I am typically tough on my gear, and while I've only battle-tested this tripod for a week now, it seems pretty rugged, although time will tell how well the plastic bits hold up.

THis Tripod feels like the Mercedes Benz of the Tripod world! Its easy to feel and see the craftsmanship that was put into the creation of this wonderful tripod. Its solid and fluid! THe carbon Fiber contraction makes it feel like its bigger brothers but its light and extremely sturdy. THeres only a single latch for the telescoping legs, very nice! The Huge tripod head and RED accents let my clients know I mean business when I pull this out of my bag. I can feel the clutches engaging when changing gears on the various rotary knobs. Its silky smooth engagement during panning and tilting is highly adjustable on the X, Y, and Z axis. Dual bubble indicators help get the perfect level on all surfaces. The mid spreader is nice because of the ease with using it on stairs or steps.

I use this tripod mainly with a Canon 7D. It is a great product. I have used many different tripods and sachtler is my favorite. Whether panning or tilting there are no jumps or hooks. You can achieve a smooth start and stop. Definitely worth the price.
The only con is that you can't easily detach the spreader.

Comments about Sachtler 0375 FSB-4 Carbon Fiber Tripod System:
The tripod out of the bag was smaller than I thought it was going to be...which made me a little nervious at first. Though once I put a sony ex1 on the sticks it handled it very well. I wouldn't want to put a much heavier camera on these sticks, but it will do great with professional hand held cameras.
Thing that I really like about the camera are the quick release and snap plate. No more sliding the camera plate all the way out of the tripod head. It just snaps straight out. I also really like that there is only one leg lock for each tripod leg. The tripod legs that you have to rotate the leg locks take for ever to get to the right hight, Especially when your doing two per leg.
I do wish that the tripod went a little lower to the ground. Now it is pretty low, but I would like to go about a foot or so from the ground. (miller, gitzo...do this)
The bag that comes with the tripod is also very nice and very durable.
Another thing that is great about the tripod is the fact that under the top part of the tripod head it comes with two replacement camera mounting screws locked right into the head. One of the screws is the bigger size than the 1/4 inch it may be a 1/2 inch?
So far I haven't gotten to get out and shoot with it, just played around with it alot in my apartment, but I can already tell it is a professional piece of gear that I am going to be very happy with.

It takes just 30 Sec which is three quick movements and I don't even have to bend over!
The patented clamping system lets you adjust the tripod smoothly and safely, even with a camera mounted. Sachtler is the best tripod in the world.

I loved it when I first got it out of the package, at last I had a professionell tripodsystem.
But when I tried to mount the plate into the camera the screw got damage, to bad quality(soft). then I noticed 2 other screws on my floor and realised that they fall of the thing that is holding the 3 legs together.
Now I have replaced the screw in the cameraplate and put the other screws on their place. Hope nothing else is falling apart.
Now I´m in love again!

ignore the FSB-2, it only hods 2kg. the FSB-4 is best for basic DSLR setup, I want to keep everything as light as possible, so I chose the FSB-4. I also considered the FSB-6 and FSB-8, but their prices kept me off. FSB-4 has one spring for counterbalance, 6 has two and 8 has three. I also don't like the toy-like battery door which the FSB-6/8 has, how a professional head would come with a such amateur battery cover is beyond me. I have tried Manfrotto 504 and Libec DV55, the FSB-4 is better than them. The package is also a good bargain. I use Canon 1D MK4 with lens up to 300/4, which I think is its limits. If you have something like 70-200/2.8 or 200/2 or 300/2.8 beyond, FSB-8 is what you need, or Sachtler's 100mm heads.

This is a great tripod, so smooth and easy to setup. It has one lock that operates both sections of the leg, so very easy to adjust. Bubble could use a light, and very sensitive ball adjustment, but other than that, it is a gem.

Great little tripod for small pro-camcorders.
I like the quick release plate which is very handy when you need to get to a shot of the shoulder quick. The tilt and pan are excellent, very smooth and you can control the tension.

I use the FSB-4 CF with my HDSLR (Lumix GH-1) semi-professionally to obtain rock-solid, velvety-smooth, repeatable moves with cinematic results.
The head is quality Sachtler through and through -- extremely durable and sturdy! The legs are very light and rigid and, with the CF locking system, fast and easy to set.
My only complaint is that the illuminated bubble level is not found on the FSB-4 head. It appears on the next model up.

When I was 17 I got my very first job as a camera assistant at a local TV station in Germany. They used heavy-duty Sachtler tripods and they sure took some heavy beating, but somehow always survived. I just received the 0375 FSB-4 today and I was surprised how well it was built. It seems that the people at Sachtler really put some thought into some smart and helpful features: You don't have to slide the camera plate back in for example - just drop it in, click, tighten, done. The tripod almost seems small altogether, but it's perfect for small(er) DV/HDV and HD camcorders. Above all: Excellent value. I'm sure I'll still be working with this tripod in 15 years.
