The Nikon Coolpix S230 Digital Camera provides images with up to 10.0 megapixels of resolution and incorporates a 3x Zoom-NIKKOR glass lens in a surprisingly slim camera body that is quality crafted in aluminum, and delivers high performance and ease-of-operation in a package that you can easily carry around with you at all times.
For incredibly sharp, blur-free images, Nikon's 4-way VR Image Stabilization technology utilizes sensor-shift Optical Image Stabilization, along with the camera's high sensitivity equivalent of ISO 2000, Motion Detection, and the exclusive Best Shot Selector (BSS), to ensure that your photos will always look great - regardless of lighting conditions or subject movement. And Nikon's Smart Portrait System ensures beautiful portrait and people shots by combining Nikon's innovative smile mode, In-Camera Red-Eye Fix, D-Lighting, and Face Priority AF technologies. Furthermore, the S230 includes Nikon's Coolpix Software Suite for organizing, editing and sharing your photos.
The bright, high-resolution 3.0" touch panel LCD monitor provides an extremely intuitive means of controlling the camera settings. You can even use the touch panel display to control the cameras focus and utilize the Portrait One-Touch zoom feature. The Touch display also makes playback a fun and interactive activity by allowing you to scroll through and select images to display and edit, plus the paint function lets you personalize images with doodles and writing right on your images.

this camera was a birthday gift and is the perfect camera for me. i have kids am always trying to capture to priceless moments that go hand in hand with children. i have gotten tons of great shots of my son doing flips and dives into the pool. you get a lot of great detail in the picture too - right down to the drops of water.
one of my favorite fetures - the camera knows when some one has blinked!!! it will ask you right away if you want to keep the picture. or delete it.

I may have gotten a lemon or maybe it's just typical for a Nikon point and Shoot. Bought this camera as a Christmas gift and simultaneously bought a similar Canon for someone else. The Canon runs circles around the Nikon. I've never seen such poor images from a camera. This product is headed back as soon as we return from vacation. Images in low light were also awful. LCD was poor as well.

Bought this camera new for the wife over a year ago. Wife loved the compact size, touch screen and ease of use so much, that when it got broken, she wanted a second one. Ordered a refurbished one and she hasn't put it down since.

We ordered this camera for our daughter for christmas. She did not show me how to work it and it is very user friendly. She takes this camera with her wherever she goes. I can honestly say this camera does everything it says it will do and I am amazed everytime she shows a picture because the quality of the picture is fantastic. It has almost taken over her cell phone.

We use the Nikon Coolpix for everyday use so far so good. Some great features about this camera are the easy to use touch screen controls. The 3" LCD screen is amazing. The only thing I wish I could change would be a larger optical zoom. Other than that, an all around great priced camera.

I love this camera! I bought it in plum-awesome color! My first pictures weren't so great but once I learned how to use it they were. I've used it indoors and outside. I also took pictures at a softball game and I was very pleased with them. I like the size of the camera because it easily fits in my pocket to take anywhere. The best part is that you can write comments right on your photos.

Comments about Nikon Coolpix S230 Digital Camera (Plum):
The initial atttraction of this model was the touch screen and stylus write on mode which are extremely efficient and easy to use. Initial set up was easy as is using the camera as it is mostly self explanatory. The only downfall is photos taken at night where the lights tend to glare (even when in night mode). I would buy this camera again as it is small and hi tech.
