For incredibly sharp, blur-free images, Nikon's 4-way VR Image Stabilization technology utilizes sensor-shift Optical Image Stabilization, along with the camera's high sensitivity equivalent of ISO 2000, Motion Detection, and the exclusive Best Shot Selector (BSS), to ensure that your photos will always look great - regardless of lighting conditions or subject movement. The bright, high-resolution 3.0" touch panel LCD monitor provides an extremely intuitive means of controlling the camera settings. You can even use the touch panel display to control the cameras focus and utilize the Portrait One-Touch zoom feature. The Touch display also makes playback a fun and interactive activity by allowing you to scroll through and select images to display and edit, plus the paint function lets you personalize images with doodles and writing right on your images.

Overall I think this camera is pretty great. Tons of features and picture modes make it good for just about anyone. I think I was over-anticipating what the touchscreen would be like after having an iPhone for so long (It's not like the iPhone, if you're wondering). It comes with a stylus that attaches to the carrying strap, and it helps to use that at times when the screen seems to be unresponsive to my touch for whatever reason. The touchscreen is the only thing keeping me from giving it 5 stars. I would say the screen more relates to a touch screen navigation system in a car. You can work it with gloves on. The pictures it takes are great, and at the price point this sells at I think it's one of the better cameras available. It's got a small frame, so it travels well. [...]

Bought a refurb. [...] It's always a roll-of-the-dice buying a refurb. I had read a lot of reviews that mentioned problems with image quality, but the price was cheap enough and it was a back-up camera for a high quality DSLR. Side-by-side images are night and day. The 10MP resolution looks more like 5MP. I tried all of the scene settings, but not much better. I'm just planning to carry it in my computer case as an emergency camera. Only slightly better than my iPhone4 camera.

I have a DSLR, but wanted something super portable for trips/quick shots/daily outings. I fell in love with this camera while shopping, and HAD to have it. I am still getting used to giving up some of the control to the camera, but I am happy with the quality of the photos, and the ease of use.

My husband bought me this camera after we bought one for our granddaugther, who absolutely loves it. The camera I had prior was hard to use, pictures were fuzzy. The coolpix is great, easy to use and compact enough to bring anywhere. I would recommend this camera to everyone. Pictures are clear, and bright. My daughter also has one and loves it.

I carry this camera in my shirt pocket just in case. Good image quality outdoors in bright light, not so good indoors in dim light, slow autofocus. Good macro, like the touch screen, easy menus.

I use this camera as my second, always in my pocket and ready to use. Nice feature with the touch screen. Easy to use, good presetting, and still a lot of possibilities to tune up for any situation.

I use this camera as an everyday camera and at this time it is my only camera.
So far I have not found any thing about the camera that I do not like.
As I have stated above I can find nothing wrong with the camera. The operator gets a few things wrong once in a while bur that problem can not be blamed on the camera.
