The Korg microKORG XL 37-Key Synthesizer/Vocoder continues the Korg tradition of high-quality synthesis in a small form, battery-powered keyboard with vocoder. The microKORG XL uses the MMT (Multi Modeling Technology) sound engine found in RADIAS/R3 synthesizers plus a sound-warping vocoder and 6-pattern arpeggiator.
This keyboard is easy to play with refined black key/white key proportions and quicker key response and square-front keys for an old square vibe. Add effects such as chorus or grain shifting plus use the integrated gooseneck microphone for instant vocoder effects.
The microKORG XL has 128 easy-to-access editable programs that can be accessed and edited with free included software making this keyboard ideal for erudite sound designers.

Comments about microKORG XL 37-Key Synthesizer/Vocoder:
The sounds this little thing produces are quite nice. A little expensive and a little plastic feeling, but the quality is definitely in the engine and the sounds it produces. The addition of waveforms and the improvements to the vocoder push it above its predecessor.
Sound editing is best done on the computer with the free software, though - the interface on the synth itself is not easy to use.
