The nanoPAD from Korg is a slim line USB pad controller (about the size of an Apple computer keyboard) that nonetheless provides a huge amount of controller functions for triggering drum samples and other uses. The unit features 12 pads, and an X-Y pad with "Roll" and "Flam" modes. The latter is useful for programming realistic drum grooves.
In addition to triggering sounds and loops, the pads can also transmit control change messages, allowing the unit to emulate certain mixing functions, such as soloing or muting mixer tracks, and turning objects on and off. An additional switch is provided that can recall any one of four scenes. These scenes allow all the controls on the unit to be set up in several specific configurations.

Comments about Korg nanoPAD - USB-MIDI Pad Controller (Black):
This is by far the best MIDI controller in the Korg nanoSeries. Surprisingly responsive drum pads.
Download the Korg Kontrol Editor software. It expands the Pad functions so you can take advantage of chords. This is great for non-keyboard players or as an alternative to carting your nano or other keyboard. Programming a scene or number of scenes based on your fave software or song key can make all the difference. It definitely allows this Pad controller to be more of an "instrument".

I purchased this along with my Numark Stealth to use for computer DJ'ing. The pads are great for hot cues and the touch pad works perfect for triggering effects. Installation was a breeze and build quality seems pretty nice for the price. Highly recommend.
