The IN5E from SM Pro Audio serves several functions, making it very useful in the home/project studio. The unit can be used for mixing various analog audio signals to a recording analog output channel, or to the USB bus for input into a computer. In addition the unit will operate as a versatile monitor mixer providing up to 12 channels of monitored signal.
There are multiple connectivity options including 3 microphone inputs with switchable phantom power and inserts on these channels, peak lights, and individual front panel gain controls. An additional 4 mono line level inputs, stereo phono inputs with RIAA EQ and individual level controls are also available. The phono inputs are especially useful for DJ's and home audiophile users wanting to digitize their vinyl.
Each channel on the IN5E can be switched and routed to a monitor or recording output pair, and the USB port. Perfect for eliminating latency when recording directly to computer, this "Direct Recording Mode" enables the user to monitor only certain inputs, while others are sent to the recording outputs.
