Comments about Iomega 2TB UltraMax Plus External Hard Drive:
Very easy to set up and reformat, but the drive is noisy. Also, mounting/unmounting is sometimes not very smooth. RAID compatible, and easy to switch between types

Comments about Iomega 2TB UltraMax Plus External Hard Drive:
This is a replacement for an Lacie hard drive enclosure that burnt-out. We are a small business and this is our backup hard drive. Currently running in RAID-1 as two mirrored 1-TB drives. Changing to RAID-1 from RAID-0 was simple and required 10min, including reformat and hooking it up to our mac server. Time machine recognized it instantly. I have yet to see any issues with the drives or the enclosure.

Comments about Iomega 2TB UltraMax Plus External Hard Drive:
1. No e-SATA cable included in box (as advertized) this listing. 2. Included Set-up instructions poor. 3. Had to contact Iomega support to get usable instructions on how to format drive for HFS e-Sata4. Unit has a very noisy fan which runs 24/7. Manually switching drive off (without a complete computer shut down can produce a blue screen)5. Unit apparently very versatile however to change modes the hard drive has to be reformatted (very time consuming).6. Works OK on e-Sata its only saving grace7. [...]

Comments about Iomega 2TB UltraMax Plus External Hard Drive:
I use the drive to store photos and video. I am a professional photographer and want lots of storage and fast access. This does the job for me.
Pros: I use Firewire 800 and access times seem very quick and responsive. The enclosure is sturdy and feels solid. An internal fan keeps the unit very cool even after I continuously moved over a terabyte of data to the drive.
Cons: The cooling fan is noisy. It is as noisy as a desktop computer on your desk.
