Good value for the money but was disappointed in the fan noise running for a half hour after a print job. Called support about it and was told it was necessary to remove heat from fuser. Found that you could set it to energy saver and the fan would turn off in 5 minutes. I've had numerous printers that had fan noise only while printing but not after printing. I am waiting on a response from support about a magenta stripe down the left side of every color print job that is printed. This started occurring after the first 30 pages of printing, mostly B&W.

B&H shipping was great. But the product did not work out of the box. I called Konica/Minolta, and the first person I spoke with was a dud. No help. After two calls I spoke with a supervisor and then someone else who determined the drum didn't work. They sent me a new drum and it works. I have a few minor complaints, it is loud, the software is hard to install properly, but the copier itself works quite well. I am not sure I would buy another K/M but hopefully I won't have to for a while.

I was considering donating this printer to a charity because I could NOT stand the noise. I sit 3 feet away from it, and after a while my ears hurt. Could not find anything in the user's guide. A search for "energy saver" yielded only power consumption information. Called Konica Minolta tech support and was told there was nothing I could do about it. It was so complicated and expensive to repack and return it, I was going to give it away.
Then I looked more on the Web (including this site) and found reviews indicating that you can decrease the length of time after use before it goes into "energy saver" mode. The reason I did not find this before is that references in the manual to changing this setting call it "energy save" (WITHOUT THE "R") mode. Now the fan turns off after 5 minutes.
I am just starting to use the product, but so far I am otherwise impressed. The manufacturer designed what appears to be a marvelous product but causes more than inconvenience for buyers by (1) setting default time before energy saver mode is activated at 30 minutes, (2) making it hard to find in the manual how to solve the problem ("too noisy" should be an item under Troubleshooting), and (3) not training their tech support staff on this issue.

This is a solid choice for an entry level laser MFC. The only two drawbacks I have encountered is the noise the machine makes during use and for about 15 minutes after and the fact that the paper feed tray sticks out about 5" in front of the machine making the machine less compact than it appears to be.

For first 3 months had no problems, it is loud though. Then toner ran out and replacement toner is insanely expensive, 3X more than Brother toner... Now belt died today after 1 year of use. Even my Samsung laser printer before this lasted 3 years. Extremely disappointed with this printer. Now it goes in the trash.

This is my 2nd KM Magicolor laser printer. It produces clear color prints as true to the color as you can get. Can be installed via ethernet cable to connect as wireless for one or more users. Compatible with Windows 7. The cartridges produce many copies, far more than my experience with Inkjet printers - far more economical! The technical support is SUPERIOR. I would recommend this to everyone for home office or small business.

It was extremely well priced, and with free shipping! BUT I had to have my computer guru here for 3 hours to install it there were so many problems. After many phone call to the manufacture etc. we finally got it up and running. The manufacturer was apologetic and said they had a lot of "glitches" with the instructions and the product. Never the less,it is working pretty well now.

Though this product cannot scan directly into a mac, I can easily scan to a USB and then plug it into my mac, which is only adding one minor step. At the price that is it offered at, this is an amazing purchase. It prints beautifully in color and it is quite fast. I fax with it with ease and I enjoy it very much overall. I heartily recommend it.

Price with shipping was a value in and of itself (unbelievable). There is a manufacturer conflict with the XP operating system I use. Outside box displays support, drivers on disc or online does not validate Windows certificate. When I call the manufacturer, about the conflict, I got the brushoff about the certificate. There may be an IP address conflict with my current other duplex printer Ethernet operations. I direct the print job to print Konica and get 100's of pages with gobbledygook to my Other duplex printer. The multifunction has not been engaged yet. I'm going to try to get the printer functional without the assistance of tech support first, and use them as a last resort. Nevertheless, the value is worth the haggling so far.

The printer works great but the network setup is hard. This is what I had to do.
1. I set up a static IP address in my router for the printer and assigned the MAC address of the printer to that IP.
2. When loading the software it asks if you want to create a new port, select yes, enter Port Name-MAgicolor, the IP you assigned to the printer in step 1 and the Que Name- magicolor1690. Be sure to selecty the type of device as LPR. I hope this helps.

Have had a printer for a few weeks, and quality is quite good. Printer and scanning setup wasn't too bad (Windows 7) - using as a networked printer connected through a switch. Have it set to standby after 5 minutes, and even from that state, warms-up and prints quick.
As others have noted, paper handling isn't the best - printing card stock required removing other media from tray. Also the scanner has jammed a few times with simple letter-sized clean pages.

When I saw the name "Konica Minolta" I figured it was going to be good and I was not disapointed. It has far more functions than I will ever use, but with "good" comes "notso good". The only bad thing is the noise it makes at idle. It's not fan noise like others have said, but a noise ( I have no idea what it is) that I will have to make a sound absorbing board that fits between me and it.
