Needed a simple and reliable monitor for work. This monitor works great and is an incredible value, superb picture, easy to set up right out the box, and looks great at my work station. Just plugged it in, turned it on and that was it. Self adjusted to wide screen view and correct color and brightness. Highly recommend it to anyone. Spreadsheets look fabulous!

Speakers are behind the monitor. Sound is low unless you crank it up, but for the person at the desk behind it, too loud.

Bought this monitor around March '10 and it broke around August '10. The monitor does not turn on.I used it as 1 of a two monitor configuration for my home music studio. The monitor's display capabilities are very good, but what can you do with a monitor that doesn't work.I would have to spend an extra $75-100 to ship it to Acer's repair center, that's ridiculous!I should have paid that extra $50 and purchased a real quality monitor from a real quality brand.[$] gone down the drain!

Very nice monitor for a desktop PC. I have an old Samsung 226BW 21" that is now used as an extended desktop monitor. Compared with this old monitor, the Acer H223H looks much better and much more vivid. In fact, I tried to adjust the old monitor to match the brightness and colors of a new one, the H223H ROCKS!! Can't beat it.

I purchased this monitor almost 8 months ago. i may have used it maybe 3 to 4 days a week for a few hours a day (used as a screen for an xbox360) it worked fine with no problems then one day the picture would come on for a second then shut off. it didn't matter what i connected the monitor to it still has the same problem.

for my purposes (video, design) this display goes beyond my expectations. The image is crisp, fast and not really exhausting for the eyes. The colors seem very natural so far.
The built-in speaker are pretty bad unfortunately. But some cheap computer speakers will do the job.

And yes, it's a cliche, all pretty impressive for the price.

I have had this monitor a about 5 months now. It is very easy to plug in and set up, and the touch control surface is pretty cool, although sometimes annoying. Sometimes I go to turn it off, and accidentally swipe my hand on the controls and the menu pops up. But this monitor is great. Very good color reproduction for video work. Although this is definitely Not a full pro graphics monitor, it gets the job done for most people.

This monitor is performing well to date, and I would not hesitate to purchase another if the need should ever arise. The only drawbacks are the lack of drivers from Acer, and the fact that the monitor occasionally does not display the desktop icons. I have to use the "input" LED and set it to HDMI, then the desktop icons are displayed. This is likely a driver problem.

[...] It is The best monitor for your money, and the quality is better than i ever dreamed. Its features are nice and it took like 5 minutes to hook up... I love how I can use it as my desktop monitor AND a monitor for my laptop at the same time becuase there is a DVI and VGA and HDMI. I just use the Awesome buttons to switch between screens. Not something that breaks the bank and it it pretty energy effiecient. I am looking at it right now! I must say it was a fabulous purchase... The cables included can cost 100 dollars anyway... sell the uneeded ones and your just made back half the money you spent!In a nut-shell: If you need a Great monitor for a good price for your home desktop or laptop, this is the item to buy!!!!

I bought this monitor about a month ago and have to say it is one of the best purchases I have made on my new system. I run a custom built AMD based desktop and had been using old CRT monitors until now. Boy, was I missing out! The color, brightness, and features of this monitor are fantastic and it runs movies and games flawlessly in HD. It's plug and play, and also includes software to fine tune your display as well as three different connector cables (VGA, DVI, and HDMI). I wish everything were so easy, and for [$] at B&H Photo you would be a madman to pass this up if you are in the market for a monitor this size. I have looked at Dells, Samsung, Hanspree, and many other models but the Acer is by far supreme.

I'm not sure an LCD can ever match the spectacular image produced by a brand new Trinitron CRT, but my Sony was getting very old and tired. For the money, this is as close to perfect as I need to get.
