I had made some research in the past few months till I found this model.
My main charcters where - small + wide angle + super zoom
While making my research I ancountered "Canon PowerShot SX200 IS" which answered all my requests. I went to talk about it with a colleague of mine, and he introduced me to panasonic zs3.
We went through the specs of both models and compared them - I was fascinated by panasonic.
I read lots of reviews and compairison to other super zoom models, and zs3 was first most of the time.
I loved the video AVCHD format, wide angle, face recognition and much more.
HI-Speed burst shots are over kill - if you don't mind resolution when you need to catch the moment with no time, you get 2.5 MP pictures that shoot like a machine gun.
Video capture with a single dedicated click - awsome. 3" screen with a great resolution that very few other compact camera have.

I only want to own one camera that I can use every day plus on the occasional vacation. My key requirements are that the camera be easy to use, takes high-quality pictures, and has a fast shutter speed (unlike the first generation of digital cameras). This camera essentially fulfills all these requirements, although I do have a short list of improvements:
-- I wish that some of the words/terms on the screen were easier to understand (e.g., more self-explanatory)
-- This camera does not take good pictures at night.

Bought this small camera so I would not have to take my Nikon DSLR on vacation this summer. I have already taken many pics with it, and love it. The zoom is amazing, the picture quality great.
Negatives... not the best in low light, but will work for my needs, requires a bit of tweeking. Battery life could be better.

I love this camera! The 12x zoom is great to get shots of everything from birds to flowers. The large screen is easy to see in the bright sunlight, it's easy to hold, and the controls are very easy to use. This camera fits easily in to my pocket and it's great having the featurs of an SLR camera in a small compact camera. This camera is well worth the money and it surpassed my expectations.

Comments about Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS3 Digital Camera (Blue):
I am a novice photographer who has only used film cameras in the past. After some research, I chose the Lumix DMC-ZS3 for my first digital camera. I like the ease of use for family and vacation photos. I took some great shots of several buffalo without leaving the car with the excellent zoom feature. I've used it a few weeks now and I have yet to find anything that I don't like about it. I highly recommend this camera.

I bought this and have used it in various conditions.
Great video (HD!!!), exceptional optical zoom lens. Stereo sound to boot. Great array of automatic settings. Intelligent auto is a nice feature. Can even set up to shoot panoramas!
On the other hand... No manual setting. The flash isn't that strong. Video editing software isn't useful if you don't shoot in AVCHD.

The camera perfectly approaches for a family photo. At the expense of the compact size it is convenient to take in travel for a photo and video. I tell Many thanks of company Pansonic and B&H Photo Video for this fine device!

This is perfect if you have no intention of doing fully manual shooting. The Intelligent Auto feature works very well, and the Scene settings, for a bit more control, are also intuitive. Great crisp shots, easy to use.
