The magicolor 4650DN from Konica Minolta is a high-speed, color laser printing powerhouse that produces high-quality, laser-sharp color and B&W photos and documents. The 4650DN provides user-friendly controls, network interfaces, postscript support and color printing at a resolution of 9600 x 600 dpi. This product also supports duplex printing, which allows you to print on both sides of a page in a single pass.

- Built on the propietary Emperon Print System and 500 MHz processor, the magicolor 4650DN quickly delivers 25ppm color and black and white laser prints. It prides itself on a first-page output time of 14.5 seconds.
- Direct Print Options
- The magicolor 4650DN allows users to print XPS, PDF, JPEG and TIFF files directly from a USB flash drive, or drag and drop the files for print using PageScope Direct Print. It also supports PictBridge, for printing directly from a digital camera.

- A Gigabit Ethernet interface offers high-speed network printing for any size workgroups. Users can also connect via USB 2.0 and parallel ports for effortless local operation.

We hesitated to buy because we had never bought a Konica Minolta printer. It's fast and the color is great. When I asked our employee who uses it the most, she replied "I love it!"
This printer replaced the Dell 1320 because we were spending lots of money on toner because of the volume that we print. We researched the Dell printer and it seemed like the best choice, but we did not realize that we would be printing about 5,000 pages per month. After going through two drums in a year, we decided that we needed to purchase a workstation printer. The high capacity toner price is very comparable to what we were paying for the Dell, but it will last longer. The high capacity color toner is a bit more expensive, but will last longer and we mostly print black and white.
Just an FYI- this printer is very heavy so make sure you have a sturdy table/desk.
All in all, we are very pleased.

It took quite a bit of cajoling to bring this printer to life and stop giving error messages. Once operating, it handles paper well and prints smoothly as long as magenta color is not required--very little comes through. This printer will require warranty repairs before it functions properly. The problem may lie with just this unit. I've owned two other Konica Minolta printers that performed reliably, producing quality output.

We have had magicolor printer before and have been very happy with the quality of their printing. When we first started with this printer it printed poorly. We called B&H and they referred us to Konica. We were on hold a long long time but when we finally got the technician he told us to tap each of the toners cartridges several time because the toner cakes up and after following his directions the printer prints very well.

Ordered the magicolor 4650DN as a replacement to an old HP Deskjet that had served our family for a long time. Setup of the printer itself couldn't have been easier, other than the weight! This is a substantial machine. Once in position, with all the packing parts out of the way we connected the printer to our network switch. We had to download the latest driver for Mac 10.6 in order to get the printing set up on our MacBook and MacPro (the driver on the CD was out of date) but once we did that we've had no issues. Fast printing, duplex option, this is a very nice printer.

[...] very heavy.Followed the instructions and to finish the installation, put the disk into my 64 bit windows 7 notebook. No dice. Spent over an hour and a half on hold for tech support. Once connected, it went very fast and had the tools to install on my other computers. The original disk did work on an old XP notebook.Seems if the printer was manufactured in January of 2010, the software, you would think, should be of the same vintage rather than 2007 as it was. Besides the very long wait for support, it all worked out fine.

I've used several printers (Lexmark, HP, etc.) before I found magicolor 4650DN. Usually I print about 600 full colored brochures per week. With magicolor 4650DN I can use a set of cartridges for a whole month. Before I used to change cartridges every 1.5 weeks. That's a lot of savings for me. I highly recommend this product for anyone.

The quality is great and easy to configure. Although, I was disappointed that the specification said the printer would print executive paper type (11x17), I don't see how. The manual feed only feed the letter or legal size paper only. Other than this misleading information, the printing quality is great.

I have had many EPSON Inkjets. I have had several color laser printers. They are all Toys compared to this real Printer. It's a little heavy, but you will only pick it up once and place it. It just strains the UPS guy a little...I like it so well I may buy another one for a spare.

Love BH, [...] good price.Works with Mac, Linux, and Win7, though the Konica Minolta web site was very difficult to use esp when it come to download of the latest versions of the drivers, very difficult to figure out the correct version(s) to download.Fast printing, good colors, quietBit larger then expected, but found a room for it under a table.Comes with "Starter" toner cartridges, which was NOT mentioned in the description. so far, printing a few pages, and it is already indicating 90% capacity.One thing I did not research ahead of time, and do NOT like, is that toner is extremely expensive, a set of toner cartridges is twice the cost of the printer. and even powder refills are very expensive.Did not print much yet, so far no jams, I hope that it will prove to be more durable and reliable then my previous printers. all of which proved to be not very durable/reliable, the inkjet clogged all the nozzles after a few months, so I gave up on inkjets and bought a cheap Samsung color laser, which stopped feeding reliably after about a year, have to push each piece of paper by hand.

This machine belongs in an office environment but I use it for a home machine. The "Home" or "Home Office" type have smaller toner cartridges which don't print as many pages and the cost of the toner is ridiculous. I wouldn't be surprised if I got 2 years out of the toner. I have an ink jet that I must spend easily $280.00 per year just on ink. Now that I have kids in High School who knows what I would be spending. Good Bye InkJet.......No tears here.
